Tiberia arrived on the Field of Mars, dressed in full armor: imperial gold breastplate, leg and arm greaves, helmet embossed with designs of crossed swords and skulls. Underneath she wore her purple Camp Jupiter shirt, a pair of urban camouflage trousers and combat boots with crampons -- perfect for hiking up steep paths or walking on people's faces. Her black curls were swept together into tight ponytail at the base of her neck, the streaks tucked in under her helmet so none flew around or got into her face. Long hair was a big liability in combat, as she had learned throughout the years.
Carrying shield and pilum, she came to a halt in the middle of the field. To her right, New Rome gleamed in the sunlight. White buildings, gardens bursting with flowers, flawless marble...Her home. She could make out the Senate(it was almost repaired now) and the columns of the Forum amidst the sea of red roofs and golden domes. The aqueduct stretched away from it into the Berkeley hills, white like new snow. To her left, she had the Little Tiber and behind her, the military camp. Unicorns grazed in a meadow, giant eagles flew in the sky.
She had always loved the Field of Mars, it breathed battles and victories, with its trenches and holes in the ground a bit everywhere. She loved to play war games here -- tonight they had death ball, which would make for a big stoke of adrenaline. Oh yeah, and a number of burns and bruises. Tiberia couldn't wait.
