    Allison walked into the deserted mess hall. She grabbed an apple and a smoothie and went and took a seat at a random table. When other people weren't around, she liked to sit at random tables besides the Athena table. It made her feel like a rebel. Allison had just woken up when she came to the mess hall. Her hair was pulled up into a bun, and she was still wearing a plain white t-shirt and pajama pants. She had no makeup left on her face, except for faint black smudges under her eyes from mascara. Allison knew how bad she looked but she really didn't care. She wasn't planning on seeing anyone before she got ready.

    Mason quietly walked into the Mess hall, a  bit late for breakfast, and early for lunch, but he had woken up late and was really hungry. There's a reason brunch was made. Mason told himself. Mason wore a camp half blood T-shirt, and blue jeans that he'd brought from home. He had brushed his hair before leaving his cabin. Mason walked over to the table of food, and grabbed a waffle, and carried it off to his lonely table. Although there was only one other person there, he still wanted to follow the rules, why break the rules? They don't need to help you live, and survive long enough to have some happy moments. Mason, then took a bite of his waffle.

    Allison was a little offended when the boy who walked in didn't sit by her, but then she realized how atrocious she looked. She'd have avoided her, too. Allison looked at her reflection the front of her iPod. She wiped the remaining mascara off her eyes and smiled. She didn't look too bad, but she was really used to wearing makeup. Grabbing her smoothie, Allison got up and walked over to where the boy was sitting at sat down. She smiled. "Hi."

    Mason was about to take another bite of his waffle, when the girl had walked over and said hi, Mason dropped the waffle. "Um Um, Hi" Mason said, now looking up at the girl. She looked like she had just woken up, but fine enough for this camp. "Im Um, Mason." Mason said, remembering how most people in the camp met for the first time. "And You are?"

    Allison smiled. She tilted her head, trying to remember if she'd met the boy before. Deciding she hadn't, she responded, "I'm Allison, but some people call me Zoe, because it's my middle name. You can call me either, I really don't care. Oh, and I swear I don't always look this awful. I actually kind of pride myself in looking nice." Allison looked down, questioning why she even started talking to him. Normally, she wouldn't be caught dead looking like she did, but she pushed that to the back of her head.

    "You don't look that awful." Mason said, as usual trying have everyone like the way they are. "Er.. so who's your god parent?" Mason said, trying to get through the usual greetings, that he had with others. Mason then began to think about why this girl had even came up to him. Did she like him? Or didn't like how he had sat at a different table. Mason, began to get self conscious, after his first question to himself.

    Allison was intrigued to get know the kid, as always. She had found herself becoming increasingly more curious. Maybe it was the Athena Cabin. "Oh, I'm a daughter of Athena. How about yourself?" Allison finished off the last of her smoothie and tossed it over her back into a trash can. She only looked quickly over her shoulder to see if she'd made it in, which she had. Allison turned back and blinked, her bright blue eyes full of energy.

     Mason watched as the cup had fallen into the trash, with slight amazement of how she had gotten it in without much effort. Mason blinked. "ER, I am a son of Bia..."  Mason said, with caution, as of he almost forgot who his mother was. "So anyways... what brought you here so late.. or early, whichever you prefer." Mason finished talking, thinking he was already talking too much.

    Allison shrugged. "I overslept a bit and I'm not a big fan of eating breakfast with people. I like to eat right when I wake up, but that involves not getting ready." Allison said gesturing to herself. Allison was still a bit distracted by what had happened when he said his parents name. She was always caught off guard by strange god parents. Of course, as a daughter of Athena, she always knew the parent, but still. It was strange.

    "Ah." Mason said simply, observing the way she had made fun of the way she was. Mason then began to wonder what she'd look like with actually getting ready. Mason pushed his weird thought away. "So you don't like people watching you eat, or something like that?" Mason asked, wondering what ever happened to his pancake, and his shyness, As he thought, he remembered how to be shy, and that he may be seen as a weirdo if he didn't roll back on talking..

    Allison shrugged. "Well, that, and I eat way more than I should." Allison said with a laugh. She had always found her laugh extremely obnoxious, so she felt a bit embarrassed. She didn't really know why she was sharing all this, but it just felt right. "Well, what about you, Mason? What are you doing here?"

    Mason smiled when he heard Allison laugh, just to know that she wasn't weirded out yet.  "Um, I'm just here because i woke up a bit late." Mason said plainly, but then felt as if he should add more. "There isn't exactly a lot of kids to help wake you up there." Mason said, still smiling. Mason, glanced to his right at his table and saw his pancake just sitting on the table, in which Mason began to wonder why he was eating a pancake just plain.

    Allison laughed. "The difference with the Athena cabin, is people never actually go to sleep. They are researching and studying all night. It's ridiculous. They don't even turn the lights off." Allison scoffed. She honestly loved her siblings, well, most of them, anyway. She just wasn't quite the same as them. Allison was interested in reading, and information, but she liked other stuff, too. Allison's head was starting to hurt a bit, so she pulled her hair out of it's bun. It fell down long over her shoulder in intense waves. Allison bushed her bangs out of her face.

     "So the story's are true? About Athena kids never having to sleep." Mason said, remembering what some kid had told him before, Although he didn't know if Athena kids took offense to that. "So.." Mason said, not sure of what to talk about next, he didn't exactly have too many conversations that lasted long. "How long have you been in camp?" Mason added after a few seconds of quietness.

    Allison laughed. "Personally I absolutely love sleep. But most Athena kids don't sleep for like 5 days, and then they go completely psycho and crash for like a week. I'm actually extremely bizarre in the Athena Cabin." Allison realized how much she was ranting in front of Mason, and he was super quiet. It was kind of adorable, but the shy kind of adorable. "Oh, I've been here for about 6 months." Allison had spent the entirety of this conversation covering up her British accent, but it had poked through in that last comment.

Mason said unsure of that. "But isn't it weird, that after even that long, we haven't met yet?" Mason said, asking for no reason.

    Allison laughed. "It's a shame. I've really been missing out." Allison was really good at seeing the best in people. She, generally, just liked people. Her best guy friend, Jase Waters, was jerk, but she loved him to death. She didn't see jerk-Jase. She saw metaphorically inclined Jase. She saw nice, caring Jase who loved his family. It was a perfect example of Allison as a person. Allison smiled. "So what's your life like around camp? Friends, girlfriend, activities." In Mason, Allison saw an adorable, slightly awkward, good guy. It was a nice change to Allison.

    Mason sighed, and acted as if he had to think hard on the question. "Well,  I've talked to people, but I didn't really make any friends, and as far as Girlfriend, no." Mason said, glad that he didn't have a girlfriend, or friend, for he may be bossed around a bit more, by his wanting not wanting to make anybody mad. "Um, and i haven't really done anything but train, eat and sleep~" Mason said sadly. "Hey, what about you?" Mason said, gaining back a smile.

    Allison sighed and tilted her head. "I'm offended. I thought we were friends. As for me, I definitely have made friends here. My best friend is a guy named Jase. He's a bit of a hot head but he is a good dude, I swear. No boyfriend, sadly. I think it'd be nice to date again. Y'know, get back to normalities. I spend a lot of time at the library, and a lot of time doing hair and makeup. That's really just a hobby though." Allison held up a finger to pause the conversation, and ran to grab another smoothie. She sat back down and gestured for him to continue with whatever he had to respond with.

    Mason's stomach tightened when he heard that she was offended. But was glad that he actually had a friend now. "Well um I meant before i meant you." Mason said, once  Allison was seated again, with her smoothie, and to just clear up what he meant before.  "Putting on make up is a hobby?" Mason asked eyebrow raised. "I thought it was a natural thing for girls to do."  Mason said as carefully as possible, to make sure he didn't say anything offending to girls. Mason then looked down at the wooden table, when he was done talking.

    Allison laughed. "I was just joking. You don't have to be my friend if you don't wanna." Allison had always been obsessed with makeup and such. "I love trying out new stuff and learning new techniques. It's also fun to do others peoples' makeup. One time I put makeup on my cousin Miles and I honestly made him look like a girl. It was hilarious." Allison took out her phone, which she knew she wasn't supposed to have, but Mason didn't seem like the kind to snitch. She flipped through her pictures until she found the one of Miles. Allison showed it to Miles. "If you see him around camp, call him Milinda. He'll get all red and it's hilarious."

    Mason smiled as Alison talked about her cousin, but worried that she didn't think that he didn't consider her as a friend, in which he did. Mason decided to leave the thoughts alone, since she seemed to be happy, so why think about it, if it's nothing? Mason asked himself. Mason then realized that he was seeing a phone, which weren't really allowed in camp, since they'd endanger the camper themselves, but Mason didn't feel like losing a friend. Mason looked at the pictures, laughing a little. "So he's a camper too?" Mason asked the obvious

    Allison pulled her phone back into her pocket. "Yeah. He's a son of Hypnos. His sister, well half-sister, is also a camper here. She's a daughter of Zelos, and her name is Emma. I moved in with them when I moved to America." Allison had developed a skill of talking in an American accent, which is what she'd been using in this conversation. Allison missed England a lot though, sometimes. She'd gotten used to camp, though, and she liked it more everyday.

    "Nice." Mason said smiling. "So you're not from America? where are you from then?" Mason asked interested. Usually there wasn't too many non-Americans in camp, because of the fact that on the other side of the oceans, there was too much danger... Mason's mind then took a turn to home turn. Mason started to see the farms of Iowa where he was from, and that terrible smell that  came from the cows...

    Allison smiled and let her accent pour out. "I'm from England, specifically, Brighton." If you added more accents and more tea, camp would be quite a bit like home. The real similarity was the water. She loved the beach more than anywhere at camp. Allison looked down at her cup. It was almost empty, and Allison knew she couldn't get another one. She'd look fat. Alliosn looked back up and flashed a smile.
