Gaurding like a bossess

I decided to laugh along with her. I then look down at the lines on my hands. It was weird. I felt like I was at home with my friends again. Though my friends - well in this case friend - were strangers. I didn't know their names, hometowns, nothing. I believed in personality.

Lindia coughed, then cursed in French as she rubbed the spit away from her dark lips. "Ugh, I hatethese lungs...serves me right for smoking for a long time" she grunted, not making eye contact with the other girl.

I took a breath in. I didn't know what to say to a previous smoker. Or someone who was older than myself. So I just exhaled and lett the silence - apart from the music - hung in the air.
"Why did you smoke? You don't have to answer." I asked her.

Lindia bit her lip and tightened her hand into a fist. "Look, I'll tell you what. Ou can ask me just one question about my past, anything you want. Now, just one question. Ask more? I lose it and someone here may leave in a casket"

I bit my tongue a bit too hard. I felt bad for saying a that. I found myself thinking. There were lots of questions I could think of, though it took me a while to actually realize that I didn't care about her past, I mean I will forget it anyways. Just like I forgot to tell Charlotte where her hairspray was or to tell my dad I loved him...
I snapped back to reality. I looked at Lindia then looked away again. My question had to be something that she wouldn't have a problem talking about. Family, nope. Her home, nope. Pets, maybe. Childhood, hmmm.
"What did you want to be - as a child - when you grew up?" I asked her.

Lindia pulle her knee to her chest and sighed, thinking back to her horrible life in Detroit. "Well...I guess I wanted to be in a rock band, Or maybe an Olympian runner...but I've given up on my old dreams. It's hard to dream through cuts and burns" she offered her wrists so she could see the white scars.

My eyes looked at her wrists. "Oh." I said before averting my eyes to the now empty road. It was starting to become dark. The colour of the earth was slowly fading away by the sinking sun. The sun which lowered into the horizon, ricocheted magnificent hues of reds, oranges and even slight shades of purple.
I tried to remember what I wanted to be and was surprised when a memory popped into mind.
"I didn't want to be anything. I wanted to buy a kombi van, green of course, and travel all around the world. I was going to go hikingon the hHimalayas, skydiving off towers etc." I said to her.

Lindia nodded "having caring parents must have been fun..." She sighed.

My breathing became slow and long. I don't know why but I didn't want to ruin the silence moment, even though I was desperate to get onto a different subject.
I jerked my head up to face it up to the sky. My helmet blocked the view so I took it off and placed it next to me. The view was magnificent and a few facts came to my head.
"Did you know the sky is also called the celestial sphere?" I said to her. For some reason I found this quite interesting. Only one of the things I could remember from my old life. I even forgot the way my father looked, the reason why I carried a photo of him in my pocket. I placed my hand on my jeans and could feel the photo crinkle when my nimble fingers met the denim surface.

Linda nodded "yeah, I've heard it be called that before"

I nodded my head. "Mmm. I don't know why though." I said to her. "Or maybe it's cause I forgot." I but my bottom lip. "I forget a lot of things." I say before taking out the photo and quickly glancing at it. My father was in a shirt and jeans with Charlotte behind him pulling a funny face. I smiled sadly as my thumb wiped the photo. I quickly put it back in my pocket before she would see. Hopefully she didn't.
I cleared my throat before asking "do you know when we finish?".

"Nine....so...two hours?" Lindia guess

I sighed. "Oh, wow. Maybe people shouldn't choose me to guard, ya know?" My British talking poking out. I slightly blushed then yawnwd.
OOC: oh, I don't mind.

Lindia smiled and stretched "well, get comfortable. Anything you want to talk about while we sit here and so about nothing?"

I thought about it then shrugged when nothing came to mind. By now the sky had darkened and I had to squint to see properly. I looked back up at the sky, now stars scattered across the darkness.

Lindia sighed at the awkward silence.

A long moment of silence passed before a question finally came out. "Ya still not ganna tell me tour name?"

"The names Lindia. That quench your thirst?" She asked with a sky smile

Lindia. To be honest I was expecting something else. I tried not let the surprise get to my face. "Cool, what's your age?" I ask.

"Lost count..." Lindia lied, not really wanting to tell her the actual age. "16?"

"Okay, how can you lose count?" I joked, not caring if she didn't answer. "16? Same age as Charlie.."

"You care for your sister, a lot?" Lindia questioned

I bit my tongue. "Yeah, I guess." I said, fiddling with my hands. I actually cared for her a lot. She was the only family I had since my father died.

As I looked in the sky, I tried to find a star constellation. Unfortunately I had forgotten, like so many other things. "Do you know any constellations?" I asked India.
