Noobs

Nyssa walked into the Game Room. She had spare time to kill and she felt like chilling in front of a TV playing video games. Yeah, she didn't feel like making things at the moment.
Nyssa wore a tank top, cargo pants and a pair of old sneakers. Her tank top was stained in oil and grease while her sneakers were targeted. She had her dark brown hair tied back in a red bandana as usual.
Her dark brown eyes scanned the room. Inside was a PlayStation, Xbox, and even the old Gamecube. You could sit on the floor, on a beanbag or on a couch. There was also a fridge in the corner, no doubt empty.
Nyssa noticed a boy sitting in a beanbag playing Harvest Moon. She scoffed. She preffered playing racing games or sometimes GTA.

Nyssa looked at the boy. He had turned around when she had scoffed and turned bright red. The boy was just about to say something (inappropriate) before realizing that Nyssa was there.
"You should watch what you say." She said. She wanted to add cause it may come true. but she did not want to embarrass the boy.
Nyssa turned and made her way to the fridge. Even though it was most likely empty, Nyssa was thirsty. To her surprise there were two cans of coke left. Her hands gripped around the aluminum before shutting the fridge door.
"You want one?" Nyssa asked, walking to the couch. Before he could reply she threw one to him, the can landing in his lap.
She took a seat on the creme colored couch and opened her can of coke. After a sip she asked,
"Don't you any other games? That are... better?"

Nyssa was surprised. She wasn't used to someone else being awkward around her. Being a child of Hephaestus she was only used to being rejected, ignored. Not being in control. The boy changed the game.
"You didn't have to change the game you know." Nyssa told the boy.
She placed her coke on the floor before finding a game. Her eyes skimmed the many game choices before finally choosing Need for Speed. She clicked the power button after placing the disc in. She took the controller and waited for it to load, sitting against the couch.
"So what's your name?" She decided to ask the boy. Normally she wouldn't be this social but this, for once, was going great. He wasn't looking down on her or looking at her like she was some sort of freak.

Nyssa turned to face the boy. "Nyssa, daughter of Hephaestus." she answered. She turned back around and looked at the TV screen, pushing buttons on her controller to choose her car. Nyssa ignored his arm that was behind her. She didn't really care. She chose a racetrack on her game and waited for it to load.
"So who's your god parent?" Nyssa asked, taking a sip of her Coke.
The track had loaded and she waited for the countdown. Three. Two. One. Nyssa drove past at least five of the cars in the first twenty seconds. She pushed buttons and the control stick, making her car swerve around corners, through alleys and into tunnels.
Nyssa waited for his reply.

Lewis continued to make advances slowly, and slowly inched closer to her. "Lethe, but you probably don know who that is..." He looked at the screen and back at her, smiling. "A gamer girl huh? Not bad..."

BIC: Nyssa raised an eyebrow as he made his way closer to her, gradually. She raced past another two cars.
"I know who Lethe is. Isn't he the god of forgetfulness or something?" Nyssa answered. She continued to pish buttons as she nearly reached the first lap, changing gears to go faster. "A gamer girl huh? Not bad..." She heard him say. A smirk played on her lips.
"Not bad? At least I play good games." Nyssa muttered. She slightly hoped he hadn't heard her.
Nyssa wanted to pause the game to take a drink, but she was to... involved to be bothered.
She continued to punch the buttons and out race the other cars.

The daughter of Hephaestus nodded. Her attention was mostly on the game. She was nearly in the first position. A few times she hit other cars, tunnel walks and random objects, such as trees. Nyssa had no idea why there were trees, she thought the idea was stupid. Trees in the city?
From the awkward vibes (if that is a thing) radiating off Lewis, Nyssa guessed that he had had heard her comment. Her teeth bit into her tongue.
"Hey, I'm sorry for being a bit... mean." Nyssa apologized quietly.
Even though her hands were nimble across the controller, her mind and focus was mostly on what Lewis's answer would be.

Nyssa was startled about the scream. She froze and turned her attention away from her game. Even though she was risking losing the game, the sudden scream had given her a fright.
Nyssa placed the controller down and looked at Lewis. She - to be honest - had no idea what to do. She did not know how to comfort him, especially being so un-social as a child of Hephaestus. "It's okay..." She heard him whimper. She bit her tongue. Was he scared of her? The thought felt like a knife pierced her skin. She didn't want people to fear her.
She placed a hand, hesitantly, on his shoulder. She tried to met her dark brown eyes with his. She did not know what to do, or say. She obviously needed to socialize more so she would know what to do in these situations.
"Um, are-are you okay?" They seemed to be the only - and most stupidest - words that left her mouth. "I-I'm sorry. If I..." Nyssa did not want to finish her last sentence, she was... afraid of it.

Nyssa nodded slightly. She waited a few moments before returning to her game. She was now coming second to last, though she did not care. She could just start again, but she also wanted to see what place she would make starting at the place she was at now. Her hands picked the controller up and began to race again. The car coming last was right behind her but she was soon far ahead of it. Nyssa's car was quickly racing amongst a group of cars, the ones that were coming between second to last to fourth place.
She paused the game for a slight moment, just to take a sip of her drink. The Aluminium reached her lips as she took a sip of the dark liquid. She placed the can back down on the floor. A thought crossed her mind. She should get to now him more, as a friend.
"So, what other games do you like, aside from the ones you're playing." Nyssa asked.

Nyssa nodded, un-pausing the game. "Oh yeah. You like any racing games? Crash Bandicoot, for example?" She asked. She tried to think of other games that she had not played in a while. Her brain was too focused on the game; that's what happens when you are ADHD.
Her car was now coming fourth now. She was approaching the end of the second lap. There was only that last lap to try reclaim her first place position. She - once again - paused the game to take another gulp of Coke. It was about half full - half empty, whatever. Nyssa hoped that the fridge would be re-filled soon. That's lazy people for you, she thought as she placed the can down and un-paused the game.

Lewis left.
