1. It was quiet
2. He could smoke in peace.
3. He liked fighting monsters.
Today, he was doing neither of those things.
"Shut up," he mumbled. To who? Well, isn't that a great question? "I'm not doing that, I'm tired." God, wasn't he. Here's some facts for you. As many as 15 percent of the population hear voices. Two-thirds of that do not become psychiatric patients. Did Lou ever want to get called crazy by some pretentious white guy? No, not really.
Lou's heard it's a form of coping. Except, he's not sure what he's coping with. All he knows is that that one goddamn voice came back. He can deal with the others, but this one.. He's a certified keptomanic and it's not because his daddy is Hermes.
He was tired, hadn't slept in days, and he found himself screaming his throat raw, quieting when the occaisional dryad stared at him. What did they know anyways? They weren't crazy.
