There were bugs, in a plentiful abundance, though they generally kept their distance. There was the occasional Satyr and Nymph, certainly kind and nice to walk passed, so long as you respected their territory. And, of course there was always the deeper ends of the forest, but even more interesting, was Zeus's Fist. All of these places, things, and distractions, yet Dimitri's focus continued to falter. Every time his boot stepped on twigs, his head and eyes darted down to his feet. He ran his hand across his brow to wipe the sweat away, he wasn't sure if it was nervousness or from the heat, but the sweat was there nonetheless. Dimitri stopped dead in his tracks, taking in a deep breath. "There are no bear traps or monsters in Camp Half-Blood. You're safe here. This is home." Dimitri whispered to himself, to assure himself. Things were going to be just fine.

The demigod looked up to the afternoon sun, at least what he could see passed the tree line. He wasn't deep in the forest, he decided to keep it a shallow walk, unless fate had other plans for him. Dimitri continued his walk, now able to focus without the darker side of things clouding him. He thought up about what his friends and family were up to right around now, though he assumed probably the usual. His friends in the Demeter cabin were probably out at the fields. The Ares cabin was probably knocking the teeth out of combat dummies. The Athena cabin was probably watching and snickering. The usual, when it came to being a part of the family that was Camp Half-Blood. Dimitri smiled at that thought.

It wasn't long before he spotted a girl in the distance, he wasn't sure if it was a nymph or a demigod. However, upon getting closer, he could see that her legs certainly weren't those of a goat. "Good afternoon." The demigod greeted her, as he approached her from behind. He didn't recognize her, not in the slightest. A good portion of demigods he could at least place some piece of knowledge to; part of his desire to wish to befriend as many people as he could. He was the kind of person to thrive with others rather than alone. "How was your mornin'?" Dimitri asked.

If anyone were to hear a bunch of clicks while they occupied the forest, do not be alarmed. That belongs to the camera of a teenage girl named Autumn. She is merely just taking beautiful nature pictures with her old Polaroid Land Camera. For those who don't know what that is, it is a black camera that has the slot to print the photos out as you take them. Autumn loves it to pieces.

That afternoon, Autumn has decided to take a little nature walk, except on this nature walk she had brought her camera and carrier case for all the photos she takes. The girl would take pictures of everything; the trees, the sun, the flowers, and a mixture of all said before. She was photogenic like that.
She was actually about to take a shot of the sun hidden between the branches of a nearby willow tree when she was startled by somebody-no, a boy.

"Don't do that! You scared the pee out've me!" She whined, turning to actually look at the boy. At least he didn't look mean cause Autumn doesn't like mean people. "My morning was amazing! Mia and I hung out and watched so many Disney movies! It was great!" That was when she realized that the boy didn't know who Mia was."Oh, Mia's my best friend in the whole wide world. I'm Autumn. Who are you?"

"My apologies." Dimitri said, in his apologetic tone. His southern accent overpowered his voice as usual. He thought for sure she would have seen him coming, though maybe he should have thought about her point of view. With that camera on her, she was probably getting ready to take a photo. Dimitri had been a lot more jumpy lately, twigs snapping and leafs rustling left him on edge. Clearly, it wasn't the same for this girl, Autumn. He was nearly grateful that she wasn't under the same trance he was. He could actually nearly see the life in her eyes, as though it was there, asking everyone else to live too. It was different, Dimitri admitted.

She was certainly whimsical, Dimitri noted. It brought an immediate smile to his face. "Disney movies?" Dimitri repeated as a question. He's heard about some of these very briefly. There was this one called 'The Lion King' in particular that people constantly told him about. He'd meant to watch it, whatever it was, but he hadn't gotten around to it with all that had been going on. Still, he admired the girl's energy. She seemed as though she was very pleasant company to have around.

"Well, either way, she's certainly lucky to have a friend like you." Dimitri noted, looking at the other demigod. He was nearly certain that she was an innocent person, with a good heart. "My name is Dimitri Midnight." The boy said, oblivious to how cliche his name was. His hand came forward, in the formal gesture of a handshake as he always did upon meeting someone new. "What brings you here today?"

A rosy blush appeared on Autumn's cheeks, after all the boy just complemented her....sorta. "T-Thanks." She whispered as the boy-no, he just said his name is Dimitri-extended his hand. "Oh, I'm Autumn Winyers, but you can just call me Autumn." The brunette introduced, shaking his hand as her blush disappeared. "And yes, my name is a little ironic, being named after two seasons and all, but I like it!" Autumn beamed, with her childish smile and innocent gleam in her eyes.

"Oh!" Autumn fumbled around her camera. "I'm taking pictures! It's something I love to do, plus the forest gets so pretty at this time of day so I chose to come and take a couple of pictures. So far they've came out really nice so I'm really excited!" Some giggles escaped her mouth. "What are you doing out here?"

If Autumn was any more cheerful, she might literally glow. Dimitri hadn't ever seen anything like it. Not even Arian from the Apollo cabin was so happy. It was actually an incredible phenomenon, in a sense. Being a demigod could be absolutely dreadful, more to some children than others. Having people around like Autumn was, to say the least, a good influence towards them and whatever mental afflictions haunted them. "I can kind've understand that. People've been tellin' me there's no way my surname is 'Midnight' and all." Dimitri replied. It was something he'd never viewed as cliche, however, others sometimes viewed it differently. In a way, she just reminded him of a completely innocent heart. It was a rare breed of people to come by, but certainly rewarding to know.

"Can I see?" Dimitri asked, regarding the pictures. "I usually take a walk after I'm done workin' on the strawberry vines." Dimitri answered. He didn't want to go forward to tell her about his new phobia of bear traps that he'd developed. It seemed like a ridiculous thing to admit to another demigod.

Autumn giggled. "That's a cool last name. I like it!" To be honest, having the last name Midnight would please Autumn. It sounded so mysterious and it rolled off the tongue nicely. Then again, so did Winters and she wouldn't trade her name for the world. It's a cliche dilema.

"S-Sure!" The girl stuttered while she flipped through her messenger bag, searching for her photo album. It's a thick leather book that Autumnhad covered with stickers. She had done the same to her messenger bag and now no one can tell the original color was purple in the first place. "I mean, no one ever really asks to see my photos but here!" She removed some of her most recent photos and handed them to Dimitri.

Actual photos! Dimitri smiled as he took them, it was like they hardly existed anymore, while people had their cell phones and computers and such. It had been a while since he held a photograph, much longer since he'd held one that wasn't his own. He cycled through the photos, slowly, taking a loot at each one of them. He wasn't a photographer, but he could tell that some real thought when into taking each one of these photos. The nostalgia of holding actual real photos was enough to keep Dimitri inspired.

"They look incredible. Kudos to you for having actual real paper photos too." Dimitri said with a smile, taking a look at one in particular. "This one..." He said, a view of the forest was framed in it. Though, his attention was taken by a pile of leafs in the corner. He quite literally shuddered, imagining a bear trap under it. He began remembering all sorts of thoughts about what it meant to be an animal caught in a trap. His expression faded into terror.

Dimitri then shook his head. Everything was okay. No bear trap.

Ifpossible, Autumn's face could rival a tomato or maybe even an apple. It was safe to say that she wasn't used to be complemented a lot, by a boy non the less. "O-Oh well, I was at an antique shop and I saw this old camera. At first I thought it'd be a bad idea because it's old and all but I really glad I got it." Autumn beamed like a child who just been given a gold star. Out've the corner of her eye she saw Dimitri eyeing one of her personal favorites; the one with the sun shining through the leaves of the trees. She actually just took that when Dimitri scared her.

"Like that one?" She asked, leaning closer to peer over his shoulder, which she had to stand on her tippy toes to see over. "I just took that one, when you came. I thought it would come out bad cause I jumped when I took it but I'm glad that it looks great!"
