fire in your eyes but healing in your heart

August walks up to the giant pine tree sitting at the top of Half-Blood Hill. This was the place he came to when he was stressed, angry or annoyed. And the son of Ares definitely was all three at the moment. He sat down on the grass, his back against the rough wood of the tree. The cool breeze blew across him, making him shiver slightly. August pulled his jacket around him more and looked up at the sky. His whole day so far had been terrible. Right from the moment he woke up to the sound of someone in his cabin interrupted his sleep by blaring heavy metal music through the whole cabin. So he was already in a bad mood when he went down to breakfast. Then he had to deal with people. ugh people. August closed his eyes, enjoying the silence while it lasted.

Kyle had decided to go for a walk on such a nice,cool,breezy day. He had chosen to walk to half blood hill and back instead of his normal beach route. He thought it would be a nice change of pace. New scenery the whole shebang. As Kyle made it up the hill he noticed an older slightly angry looking kid was sitting near the tree with his eyes closed. Kyle tried to walk away as quietly as possible but he stepped on a branch causing it to snap and Kyle to fall since the sudden snap scared him out of his wits.Kyle landed face first in the ground, trying desperately to look both small and invisible.

Augusts eyes shot open at the sudden sound, his hand automatically going to the hilt of his sword at his side. His eyes darted around him landing on the boy that is laying on the ground. August stands up with a sigh, the quietness ruined. He walks over to the boy, his sword still in his hand and pokes the boy in the arm harmlessly with the tip of his sword. "what are you doing with your face in the dirt, you look like an idiot." he says bluntly.

Kyle pushed himself into a standing position,brushed himself off,and turned to see an angry looking boy who was both bigger and older then he was.

"I fell while I was walking." Kyle explained. He noticed the sword in the other boys hand and shied away a couple steps in order to put distance in between him and the blade."Can you do me a favor and not point that thing in my general direction?Its really dangerous."

August rolled his eyes and put his sword away. "i can handle my own sword, its not like im going to stab you." After August said this, he walked back over to where he was sitting and sat back down, setting his sword in the grass beside him. All he really wanted was to be alone right now, he didn't feel like dealing with annoying brats like this kid. His face turned back into its normal expressionless state and he leaned his head against the tree.

Kyle watched as the boy walked away. "Jeez what a jerk." Mumbled Kyle. Kyle walked by the tree no longer caring if he disturbed the boy laying under it and began to inspect it thoroughly. He noted the detail of the trunk and how the branches swayed in the wind. Maybe if he felt the need he would got to the forge and see if he could make a dagger or sword with a nice design in the side. He might even see Elijah there again.
