by moriarty 9/9/2015, 9:28 pmlydia walked into the training grounds with her bow and quiver slung over her shoulder and her knives strapped to her belt. she was wearing simple black jeans and a silvery shimmery top, with her hair thrown up in a ballerina bun. she looked like a typical white girl that you wouldn't want to mess with. she stood nervously in the training grounds, not quite knowing what to do. there were targets set up around the area, but she didn't know if there were special rules about practice. lydia stood in the same spot, watching the other hunters train.

"Are You Sure You Want To Do That?"
Training is like second nature to Yuki. Her training doesn't consist of hand-to-hand combat normally. Most of it was to keep her aim top notch for hunts. Spending hours shooting bullseyes over and over has become her afternoon activity after lunch basically after hundreds and hundreds of years. Some of the other hunters wonder why she's always training when she's already skilled but her response was always "You can never be too careful".
So the hunters didn't actually look surprised to see Yuki with her bow loaded and multiple arrows wedged in the center of the target. She was decked in her camp pants, black t-shirt, black glove covering her left hand, and black military boots. Her katana was sheathed and strapped to her back with her arrow quiver as well. Her daggers were strapped to her pants, catching to sun's glimmer from time to time. Recently Yuki has decided to dye her fiery red hair to caramel brown, which was now tied up in a ponytail. It looked a lot better to be honest.
About an hour into her training and Yuki could feel someones gaze watching her. It really bothered her and she's loosing concentration. Her grip on her bow loosened and she turned around. There were a couple hunters in spar matches but there was one girl standing to the side who looked out've place with her weapons ready.
"Are you coming to train or not?" Yuki asked, getting closer to the blonde.

lydia watched a single hunter for a while. she was in all black, highly contrasting to lydia's girly ensemble. she was an amazing archer, and the new recruit was entranced for upwards of an hour. she drew her dagger and sheathed it, a nervous habit she had recently picked up. she used to knot her hairties together and untie them constantly. adhd was a given for her as demigod, but it seemed like it had gotten worse since she had joined the hunters. lydia always felt like she had to be moving or fighting something. she continued watching the girl until eventually, the other hunter turned around and spoke. she started at the sudden interaction. "oh, uhm, i don't really know..." she said softly. lydia adjusted her bun and her bow across her back awkwardly. ooc: well done. *applauds* this html took me way too long to do XD |

"Are You Sure You Want To Do That?"
The young girl looked a little sheepish, almost as if she didn't know what to do. She actually reminded Yuki of when Yuki first joined the hunt. The look of uncertainty and nervousness matched Yuki's during her first time at the training grounds those couple hundred of years ago. She could relate to the blonde in front of her. It's actually quite humorous and Yuki had to try not to laugh.
"Let me guess? You just recently joined the hunt?" The older hunter asked the girl.

lydia continued to fidget with her daggers. "Yes, just a few months ago," she said, her French accent coming through quite prominently. it was clear that the hunter she was talking to was experienced, given her ease about everything. lydia was still struggling to get accustomed to the hunter life, what with moving every few days and not knowing anyone. lady artemis was often out, and lydia had only spoken to her once, when she had taken her oath. |

"Are You Sure You Want To Do That?"
Now Yuki understands the situation a little better. This girl just barely joined so she probably doesn't know much of what the routine for the hunters. "Oh. Well then, welcome to the hunt. I'm Tsubomi Yuki but please, just call me by my first name Yuki." She introduced with a light smile. Despite only living in Japan for a decade and a couple of years, she's still used to saying her last name first. It seems a little more proper for her. "So, I'm guessing you need a partner. I'll be it for the time being. Just to warn you, I won't go easy on you." She joked, though it wasn't very funny.

"well, thank you, yuki." lydia was slowly becoming more comfortable around the other hunter. when the other girl offered to be her partner, lydia was a bit taken aback. she quickly changed her look of surprise into one of gratefulness. "thank you, but perhaps i can spar with someone a little more suited to my skill set?" lydia didn't have much experience sparring, and archery was more her speed anyway. |

The small smile on Yuki's face vanished at the blonde's comment. The thought of overpowering the new huntress hadn't crossed her mind at all when she offered for the opportunity to train the new girl. True, Yuki has been training for over hundreds of years and was probably a lot stronger than the blonde, along with faster. Injuring her new acquaintance would most likely happen.
Then again, when does Yuki ever think like this?
"Are you sure? I promise to try not to hurt you?" Yuki pressed on, catching a quick glance of the archery target with her arrows poking out. Hmmm....not a bad idea. "Or, I could just help you with archery, if it'll make you anymore comfortable."

at the mention of archery, lydia's face lit up. "yes, archery is really my strong suit." she pulled the bow off of her back and ran her fingers over its engravings. as she did so, lydia realized she hadn't introduced herself yet. "i just realized i had never told you my name. i'm lydia." a happy , genuine smile crossed her face as she spoke. |

It seems that Yuki has a little something with the blonde-no, her name is Lydia-with their love of archery. Then again, she was pretty sure that every single hunter had a love for archery so it wasn't uncommon to find an archery lover in the hunt. "It's nice to meet you Lydia." Yuki gave a nod of recognition before sauntering over to her target. Her arrows were still imbedded in it, so she had to pull them out before letting Lydia line up to shoot.
"Go ahead." Yuki looked over her shoulder to Lydia once she had succeeded with pulling the arrows out. "Take your best shot."

lydia took her bow from across her back and ran her fingers over the designs she had etched into it. she lined up to the target and pulled an arrow from her quiver. she took a breath in, drew back, and let loose an arrow as she exhaled. it hit just outside the bullseye. on the inside, lydia was disappointed in herself and mentally berating herself for not hitting the bullseye. she really wanted to impress yuki, but you don't get a second chance at a first impression. on the outside though, she kept her cool and just fired another arrow. this time it hit almost dead center. lydia lowered her bow, and looked over to the older hunter. |

Lydia seemed to know what she was doing, despite messing up the first shot. She wasn't at Yuki's level though, so there was always room for improvement. "That wasn't terrible." Yuki commented, walking closer to the newer huntress. Yuki noticed the carvings on Lydia's bow and smiled slightly before returning to her composed stature. Those designs were something that Yuki could not do and they looked very detailed. Actually, it was a little cute. "How long have you been practicing with a bow?" The huntress asked, lining up by Lydia while she ran her thumb over the wood of her own bow. To be honest, she was itching to shoot but she was training Lydia, not herself.

lydia shrugged in response to yuki's question. "six years or so? i learned as a child for sport." lydia's father had given her a small wooden bow when she was young, and she had loved archery ever since. it was one thing that set her apart from the other prissy french girls. instead of playing tennis and complaining about a skinned knee, lydia went to the tiny archery range and shot arrows until her fingers bled. not literally, but sometimes it seemed that way. |

Six years seemed so short to Yuki, who has been wielding a bow for decades. The years of morning training can pretty much make anyone a master. Sure, she never needed to wake up at the crack of dawn just to trudge down to the archery range just to shoot arrows into a target until her fingers bled but it served her right these years later.
"Those must be long years for you." Yuki commented, looking at Lydia.

"not particularly. it was mostly in my spare time." lydia spent every moment she could practicing archery. she even tried to take half-days at school to get more time in the range. alas, her father valued education more than anything else. lydia lined up to shoot again and fired an arrow almost directly into the center. she put her bow down as if it was nothing and ran her fingers over the designs again. |
