"O, Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering." I called and tossed the drachma into the mist. The drachma disappeared and I said, "David Payne... Staten Island, New York." The mist warped and I saw the tired face of my dad. He didn't notice me, he was looking down writing something, maybe a letter? "Dad!" I called. He looked up quickly, his shocked face melted into a smile.
"Well isn't this a surprise!" He said warmly. "But... It's not Friday. Why are you I.M.'ing me so early?" He asked me quickly.
"Well, I'm not gonna be able to talk on Friday... I've been invited to go on a quest." I told him reluctantly, afraid of what he might think.
"Ahh, yes. Quests, I remember my own quests, what fun. Though dangerous, you be careful out there Kathryn." He told me sternly.
"You're not going to ask what it is?"
He sighed, "I will probably sleep easier if I didn't know." He told me with a light smile.
I smiled, "I have to go dad. I'll message you when I get back."
"I love you Kathryn, be safe."
"I love you too, dad." I smiled, and swiped my hand through the mist, ending the connection.
"Your dad had quests?" I asked.
I nodded. "He is a demigod, he stayed at camp too." I told him. "Alright, I should head back." I said, and grabbed Jordan's hand and left the fountain.
