I sigh. I block two by sticking them on the edges of the staff but get hit in the chest by the last one.

I block the wave of magic and turn back to Evon. I throw the staff with the energy still attached.

I get knocked down from behind. Alright. Let's get serious. I give Stephen his staff back and grab my new crook and flail. I swipe at the air shooting waves of magic in each direction.
