Laure looked at the horizon, her blonde hair falling like a silky honey cascade over her shoulder. She thought about Camp Jupiter, about Percy Jackson and Leo Valdez, about Octavian and Gaea and felt that everything had become so complicated.
"On the personal level, I'm doing really good," she started with a cute smile. "Yet... All this new war. You see, after the war with the Titans I had hoped for... you know.... a bit of time for us demigods to relax. But alas, that wasn't granted."
She looked down and took some sand in her hand.
"How do you feel about this?" Laure asked as she let the sand flow out of her hand. "That Gaea, our mother-Earth, is against us and wants us dead?"
