Stumbling over a rock Maggie called out once again to her younger sister with a tear tracing her jawbone,"Melana!" Maggie's voice was weak and cracked with sadness, but she pushed forward with defiance. Regret boiled in the pit of her stomach along with sadness. Struggling to run once again Maggie felt her braces scratch the insides of her mouth and she just ignored it. Just then, she saw her friend from summer camp here, Gizmo Techo, and call out,"Julia!"

Satyrn the Satyr was just heading out for another demigod when he heard the call. He sighed and went to investigate. Instantly, he recoiled. He smelled a monster. Perhaps an empousa? Satyrn didn't know. He peeked over a hill and found a girl. Two girls. One smelled distinctly like monster. The other smelled more like... Demigod? Where do these kids come from?! How is this one so close to camp? With a monster? Without a satyr or other demigods?

Sprinting towards Julia with a cry of help, but saw a glimpse of scales, shaking it off Maggie kept running, thinking it was just the sun. "Julia, I can't find Melana!" But as Maggie called out Julia shifted into a empousa, a snake woman and lashed out with her long fangs. Jumping back, Maggie felt a layer of sweat drench her. Slowly backing away Maggie scrambled and asked slowly,"Julia, Julia?" Maggie heard someone start to come down the hill, but she didn't dare look behind her.
