by Blaze ran out into the open clearing. The trees were abundant in this tiny area, making it a perfect area to just relax, maybe even play football or a sport of any kind. He spotted a small patch of rocks in the middle and a smirk formed on his lips. Perfect. He ran over to the small patch of rocks and leaned a hard bed out of them. He laid down on top of it, arms behind his head. Ahhhh, this was the life. He closed his eyes, gripping his leather sword handle tightly. Even though it seemed very peaceful and safe, nothing was safe in this god damned camp. A hell hound had broke into his cabin before and ate most of the food they had stashed up. Man, he hated hell hounds. Stupid mutts.

Rita jumped from tree to tree, using it as a work out. Usually she'd be running, but last time she ran she learned her lessonby accidentally stepping on a poisonous snake. As she was jumping, she noticed a boy below her. She looked at him for a second too long, and when she reached for a branch, she missed by a few inches and fell. She tried to grab onto other branches as she was falling, but she failed and landed a few feet away from the boy.

Blaze jumped when he heard a small thud next to him. He looked up to his left and saw a girl. She must of fell from the tree He concurred, looking up at the trees. He gulped and sat up straight. He stood up to his knees, wiping the dirt from his pants. The rocks were quite filthy. He cleared his throat, holding out his hand. "Need any help?" He asked, a friendly smile on his face.

Rita got on her hands and knees, then fell back down. "ah crap, my rib..." She looked up at the boy and took his hand. She used it to help him up, then turned away from him so she could examine her rib-cage. She unbuttoned her shirt and examined her chest. She felt her ribs, which didn't hurt as much as she expected, so she concluded that they weren't broken and only slightly bruised. "Okay good, nothing broke." She buttoned her shirt back up and turned to the boy. "Thank you, I thought I cracked a rib for a minute."

Blaze smiled. "Oh, no problem at all. Just glad you're alright. It would be a real pain having to drag you all the way to the infirmary." He winked at her then turned to go back to his little rock bed. He stopped and turned around again. "Oh, we havne't even introduced ourselves." He held out his hand again. "Blaze. Son of Hestia." He said, adding in the god parent part casually. That sort of topic always came up in conversation, so might as well say it now.

Rita smiled and shook his hand. "Rita Stone. Daughter of Hecate." She had never met a son of Hestia before. "So what are you doing out here so deep in the woods, Blaze? Nobody else is out here except the two of us." Rita was only out there to work out, but it never crossed her mind that she could be killed by a monster that was stronger than her.

Blaze shrugged his shoulders. "I was just taking a little walk and I stumbled across this clearing. Thought it would be a nice place to just sit down and chill out." He said with much gusto. He let go of her hand, blushing faintly. "So, Rita, how old are you?" She seemed younger than him, but he could never be sure of it unless he asked.

"Well I'm almost 17 now, but I've always been told I look younger than I am. What about you?" She let her hand fall to her side, and noticed something crawling around in the bushes. She assumed it was just a raccoon or a rabbit, and didn't think much of it.

Blaze nodded. "I just turned 17, so we aren't that much different in age." He said, looking towards the bushes. At first he didn't notice it, but right when the creature walked out he unsheathed his sword. A large Chimera rushed out of the bushes. It's eyes glowed red with hatred, snarling teeth sticking out. Blaze gulped, pointing his sword at it. It was extremely large, almost the size of a full-grown elephant.

Rita gasped and quickly took her bag off of her shoulder. She took her snake out of it, and threw it to the bushes away from the Chimera to hide. She threw her bag somewhere and took out her bow and arrows, ready to shoot.

Blaze watched as the girl threw a snake and her bag, bow and arrow in hand. He hoped she was good with the bow and arrow, because they would probably need it. Blaze glared at the creature, throwing a flaming ball of fire at it experimentally. It dodged the thing easily, hissing at the boy. This was gonna be fun.

Rita ran to the side trying to distract the monster from the boy, and quickly climbed the tree. The Chimera stared up at Rita, assessing the situation, and she shot a bow towards its eye, which it easily dodged. "Well this isn't gonna work." She threw her bow down and instead started charging a small ball of electricity in her palm.

While the hideous creature was staring at Rita, Blaze ran into action. As soon as the monster dodged the arrow, Blaze jumped up on top of it's back. He tried to stab down, but the damned things tail knocked him off. He fell onto his back, wind flowing out of his opened mouth. He coughed and sputtered, but managed to get safely behind a rock. After he caught his breath, he examined the monster hoping to spot an opening on any sort.

"Blaze, get him from behind, and when he's distracted I'll hit him!" Rita shouted to him. She kept charging the small ball of electricity to be stronger, but to remain the same size. She was hoping the monster wouldn't go towards her, but it seemed distracted enough with Blaze to hurt her in just a few seconds.

Blaze heard Rita and nodded to himself. He ran towards the monster, going right under it's legs. He slid under his belly, stabbing upwards. He waited too long, however, and hit his tail instead of his stomach. It yelped, turning around towards the son of Hestia. It growled, big globs of droll dripping from its mouth. Blaze waved his sword around, calling it names and such. Blaze thought that the girl had it under control, so he decided to be a jerk and leave.
