Victorie was genuinely concerned now. This girl was seriously upset.
"No, please! Stay here. You look like you need a little rest. Just sit down, I'll make some tea, then we can talk calmly."
The word "suicide" crossed Victorie's mind and she tried furiously to repress it. Stacey would be fine if she stayed where Victorie could keep an eye on her

Victorie walked over to her small kettle, already filled with water from the last time she had heated it up and forgotten about it. She picked it up and placed it on the heating pad, turning the temperature all the way up. Finished with that, she walked over to the bed and sat down next to Stacey, wondering what to say.

Victorie gave a slight smile. "Hey. Boys are fleeting, but friends last forever." She cringed internally. That sounded so cliche. "This boy doesn't even deserve you. I mean, you waited for years!"

Victorie was stunned. "One boy? What have you been doing your whole life?" She shook her head. "I'm not even being typical cabin 10 when I say this, every teenager knows being fixated on one boy isn't healthy at this age." Victorie was completely baffled by the idea. Suddenly, she had a brainstorm.

Victorie smiled. She had a soft spot for big, cheesy, movie musicals, and Hello Dolly was one of her favorites. "Okay. I swear, I'm going somewhere with this. In Hello Dolly, two of the characters get fed up with their lives and go to New York City on the vow that they won't come back until they've each kissed a girl." Victorie waited for a response with an expectant look on her face.

Victorie grinned. This was the good part. "We're those two characters! Well, I'm fed up with my life, you've only just started yours, but the parallel is almost exact! So the logical thing for us to do is ... " the expectant look came back and she trailed off deliberately, waiting for Stacey to connect the dots.

"Well, not exactly." laughed Victorie. "I mean, we should get out and flirt with some boys! Or girls if that's your preference, I don't judge. Maybe not all the way to New York, but we can at least get outside the cabin!" Victorie gasped. "I KNOW! We could ride my motorcycle! You'll love it, it's light blue and vintage and beautiful." Victorie was having all sorts of good ideas today.
