Gabrielle Beartboux, Daughter of Aphrodite. Empty Gabrielle Beartboux, Daughter of Aphrodite.

Post by Brastus 2/16/2014, 6:21 pm

    Name: Gabrielle Lux Beartboux ( Gah-brie-elle Bert-bow)
Age: Born in May 12 1997, which makes her, 16
    Spoiler:

    Spoiler:

    Gender: Female and very proud.
    Eyes: Faded and icy grey

Hair: Gabrielle has medium, shiny and thick black hair styled in a short and fashionable bob cut.

Height:She is 5'7 without heels. When she wears her heels she is about 5'9-5'10.

Body Type: Gabrielle has an alluring and attractive hourglass figure.Skin Color: Gabrielle has olive colored skin.

God Parent: Aphrodite, goddess of love, desire, pleasure and lust.

Mortal Parent: Henri Beartboux, a famed male model in France who suffered a horrible leg injury and became a teacher in fashion school.

    Country of Origin: France, Paris.

Pets: None, she detests anything considered cute because it upstages her.

Talents: Gabrielle is quite the seductress. While she is very attractive, she is a woman of dance. She is famed for her passionate, ceaseless and alluring dancing and was taught how to dance, waltz, flamenco, cha cha, quickstep, tango, belly-dancing and her favorite, rumba. She is also very proud of her taste in fashion which ranges from couture opulent dresses with lavish ornaments or simple yet elegant blouses with either jeans or a pinstriped skirt. Even without her makeup and her hair a mess, she is considered pretty and cute.

Weapon**: She doesn't partake in barbarous activities such as fighting. However if she needs to defend herself she can always count on either her ability to have others do it for her or her trusty celestial bronze dagger strapped to her thigh.

Personality: Gabrielle has a superiority complex and is very arrogant and cruel. She knows she is beautiful and uses it to her advantage. She can put on the mutter's motley and act the part of the sweet and innocent girl, but in all reality she is a cold and aloof person. Deep down however, she yearns for understanding and camaraderie. Due to her arrogance and vanity, she has isolated herself into believing that even "perfect" people are bellow her and that only her mother surpasses her in terms of beauty. While she is very narcissistic, she can be very matronly and kind to those she sees as her friends and is not above doing a favor to a relatively known person. Overall, she is a mean girl.

Flaws: She is a woman of emotions and often lets these control her mind and cloud her judgment. She is also very discriminatory. WHile she isn't a racist, she is a very insulting woman who declares harsh judgement on others based on looks and appearance only and she links the way people dress to how they live and what is there social standing. She also has a hard time warming up to others and can be sarcastic to pretty much anybody. Offensively she is not really a good opponent. She does have strong legs due to her exercise and she is quite flexible and agile, but again she is not nearly as strong as the other demigods. She has a large nose, cheekbones too high, empty cheeks, and cracked, ugly lips that she covers up with rouge lipstick.

Powers(must relate to god parent; optional): She possesses limited hypnotic abilities and she knows how to use them. She is also known for her great beauty and attractiveness and can combine her looks with her dancing to lure others into her trance. Her powers are channeled by her dances and moves. Whenever she starts to dance, she can cast a spell that can control up to five non-demigod humans or three full fledged demigods for minimum of three minutes but a maximum of five minutes. She can order them to attack and defend her, but She can't order direct kills and she cannot order his victims to commit suicide, but she can command those entranced by her dancing to attack others or to use them as defense. She can control a maximum of five regular non-demigod humans ( three if its women) or three demigods. She has to maintain a 20-30 feet  radius in order to activate her powers and those under her spell must remain inside the perimeter of her spell. The further her range is, the lesser control she has under her victims though. So it means it is easier to break free of her spell.  As a daughter of the goddess of beauty and desires, she can influence the thoughts, lusts and yearnings of others mentally and she can use these flaws to her advantage by exposing them while performing her dances. She is limited to using her dancing magic three times per day. In order to fall for her, one must look at her for an entire minute and must remain uninterrupted in order for her powers to take effect. One can also keep track of her shadow and reflections. If one is distracted before an entire minute passes, her spell is negated. Also, once under her spell, one can break free, but the infatuation with her must be destroyed before. This is done either by pain or by exhorting an incredible amount of mental willpower.  She can change her physical appearance somewhat. While she cant lose or gain weight or change her base appearance, she can alter her hair color to even ostentatious and outrageous colors, and she can extend this power to her eyes as well. These shape-shifting abilities can only be used once on a month and remain in effect until a month passes. Her most used color though is a combination of grey eyes and deep brown hair, but she can change it to silver eyes and orange hair if she wants to once a month. She can identify feelings of love, lust or admiration of others directed to her outside of her dancing, but she cannot manipulate them and she only remains informed of the other's hidden feelings.

Life Before CHB*: Gabrielle has a spoiled life. She lived a very frivolous and carefree journey due to her father's famous career as a male model and later on due to her looks. Gabrielle never knew her mother because she left her father two days after her birth. She barely had to lift a finger to get what she wanted and if she enjoyed a wealthy lifestyle. Yet, her father wasn't always around and she was mostly raised by maids around the mansion and often experienced loneliness. In order to overcome this loneliness, she joined a dancing academy in Paris named Fleur DellaCroix Academy of Dancers. Gabrielle quickly learned many dances and was able to gain a reputation for being beautiful and a graceful dancer. Eventually, she gained a number of fans throughout France due to winning several small time competitions and two regional competitions and getting to be second place in the nationals of France. She eventually begun a small career as a professional dancer and made a good amount of money. Yet, this all changed after she fell in love with a boy named Desmond Agulder. Gabrielle helplessly did whatever her boyfriend told her and often wasted her money and cheated on her a number of times. Eventually, he would try to seduce the only friend Gabrielle ever had, Angelica, and after a struggle with the hulking older boy, Angelica told Gabrielle of the almost rape she experienced.  She was furious, after finding out he had cheated on her, the daughter of Aphrodite scornfully rejected the boy and pushed him down some stairs, which caused him to get a crippled leg. After the incident, her father, who suffered a similar injury, took the girl and flew to the United States for a fresh start. During the trip, her father revealed to her who her mother was and she finally understood why she had such a successful career. She and her father settled in Boston Massachusetts and during her stay, her father gained a girlfriend named Stephanie Jones. Miss Jones wasn't just another girl with grey eyes and blonde hair, she was a daughter of Athena. However, Stephanie had grown beyond her teens and into her adult life and so she wasn't much in contact with he mother. Stephanie did eventually realize Gabrielle was also a demigod after noticing the unusual number of guys she attracted and suspected she was a daughter of Aphrodite. Her theory was proven correct after she confronted her boyfriend, Gabrielle's father, and was told that the mother was actually Aphrodite.  Eventually, Stephanie told Gabrielle about the camp which she attended when she was younger. Curious to find out what the camp offered her, Gabrielle decided to follow the directions Stephanie told her to find the camp and she eventually spent the whole summer there.

RP Example*: Her dress's frills danced with her movements. She passionately waved her arms around and shook her hips aggressively. The crowd was roaring and applauding and she was smirking and giggling. The men were allured and the women were envious. She then placed a red rose on her mouth and performed a very impressive flamenco accompanied with a man clapping to the rhythm and another man wearing a large hat who used a guitar. She loved dancing. It made life easy and simple to understand. People judged and were cruel, but every time she moved, she felt like a queen. The lights were on her and the music rose as the performers reached it's zenith. With a powerful twirl and several spins, she whipped her hair, smiled at the crowed and ended her performance. The only thing that was audible was the sound of thousands cheering for her, Gabrielle Beartboux., daughter of Aphrodite and the greatest dancer in history. At least in her humble opinion.

If your character were really born on that date, she'd be 18, not 16.

Imperial gold is only for Romans; her dagger would have to be Celestial bronze.

Your first talent is a bit overstated; "enchanting" is a bit too strong of a term. Maybe "persuade" would better suit that.

For her powers section, you really don't need to add if she's an offensively strong opponent or not; that would probably be better in Flaws or Notes. You also don't need to talk about how attractive she'd be with unkempt hair and no makeup; it's useless information for the powers section. Describe these so-called hypnotic abiltiies some more.

I'd tone the salacious figure down (try to find another adjective please, it's kinda a kid's site here).

Brastus wrote:She is able to enchant others to do stuff for her with simple flirting and basic touching

Definite no to this. Please take it away.

Brastus wrote:her trusty celestial bronze dagger strapped to her thing.

Her thing? Do you mean her thigh?

Brastus wrote:having one practically become enslaved to her words and dances

No to this. Take it away please.

Also, please add time limits to the powers. How much time does the hypnosis last? How much time does the cool-down last?

Ten persons seems a bit much for one day, might wanna tone it down to five?

What is the maximum thing Gabrielle could make somebody do with that hypnosis? Also how far at most does the person have to be in order for her power to work?

And quick question, does this work only on guys or on girls too?

Um, can she change her eye and hair color to non-natural colors e.g. silver, golden, violet, orange?

No to winning three national competitions. I specified in my PM I would not allow anything national.

(The Fleur DellaCroix Academy is fictive, but did you squeeze in a reference to Fleur Delacour? Just out of curiosity. In that case excuse my craziness but I have to post this gif >> http://bit.ly/1gUyKK5 )

How did her step mother realize she was a demigod?

You still haven't fixed her age.

So... you're saying she can control people through two different ways (talking and dancing)? When you refer to the 3-times-a-day-for-15-minutes-total limit, is this only for the talking version? If she has two different versions of this power with two different limits, I'm going to say no; pick one version and make limits for that only, instead of using the other version as an extension of the first. (The talking version also appears to border on charmspeak, which we don't allow. Desire/lust manipulation is fine, but don't make it so that she can make them do whatever she wants.)

How can people resist the hypnosis? (And why wouldn't the victims be able to use their own weapons -- would she simply order them to or what?)

For the sake of organization, place all the hypnotic-related stuff together instead of putting them after the hair/eye-color changing power.

I don't think you answered Morgan's question about how her stepmother realized she was a demigod, nor did you add in a cooldown time between power usages.

The current site year is the current world year, gregorian calendar.

This doesn't belong in the body type section but in the Appearance or Flaws ones.

Also I don't see why you put with heels and without heels for the height. I mean, she doesn't have only 3 or 4 inches-heeled stilettos, right?

Choose one type of hypnosis, as Kenny said.

I didn't mean to put 15, she can't sue her dance magic consecutively but she can use it three times per day, also charmspeak is just talking or flirting with someone, dancing has been a form of seduction for almost millenniums…it wouldn't be an exaggeration to give her a boast in her dancing

Uhm, no, charmspeak is a power in the PJO universe. (Spoilers for the Heroes of Olympus series: http://camphalfblood.wikia.com/wiki/Charmspeak)

Your "In between 30 seconds one can look at her but one can exactly look at her 58 seconds in an entire minute." sentence in the power section doesn't make much sense; try rephrasing it. What other things could she make people do, besides killing -- have them act as servants? You also need to give the potential victims another good way to resist. (And take the Medusa thing out; it's not really relevant, we just want to know what she can do.)

Also, where did the limits for her appearance-changing power go?

You used to have limits for her appearance-changing power in that section, but now it's gone. Why is it gone?

So, she can only use her hypnotizing powers to get people to attack or defend for her? When she dances, how far away must her victim be at most in order to be affected by her spell, and can she only use this on one person at a time?

Is this part of her dancing power? ("As a daughter of the goddess of beauty and desires, she can influence the thoughts, lusts and yearnings of others mentally and she can use these flaws to her advantage by exposing them.")

Change her year of birth; the site takes place after Mark of Athena and before House of Hades, so I'd estimate that it's around 2012-2013 on the site.

A half-mile radius for her power is too much; you'll need to greatly reduce that.

How much could she influence another's thoughts, exactly?

She can control a maximum of five regular non-demigod humans ( three if its women) and three fully fledged demigods.

^ This contradicts a previous statement in your power section, where you said she can control 5 mortals OR 3 demigods. (And what would a "full-fledged" demigod constitute as, anyway?)

I mean asking how does she influence people, she does it with her dancing, which i already explained. I mean cut me some slack please, I tried to make her less detailed because I wanted to use her as quick as I could…but so many interrogations…please cut me some slack…also…Morgan told me the year is the current year so i am really confused now...

Christian, are you making the promotion of obeying without thinking? Just do what the powerful guys tell you to do without questioning it, without thinking by yourself? Be a good little sheep? I'm disappoint.

Brastus>> the reason you're asked these questions is because charming through dancing and charming through talking is basically the same. It's as if you had converted charmspeak into dancing. And charmspeak is OP so not allowed. We're just trying to help you tone it down so it's acceptable.

No, clearly you don't remember the Approver tests, in which you said so yourself that the amount of time that it takes to approve a form depends on the member, and their cooperation. Clearly, if the member does not cooperate, then it will take longer for their form to be approved, which just makes everything worse for both the staff and the member. If anything, I am trying to help you and Brastus himself, so don't act as if I'm telling him not to think for himself and trying to suggest that he let this site be a dictatorship. I'm disappointed in you that you would make such a false accusation, and that maybe you think before you do something else of that nature. I don't plan to flood this form with posts, so if you have any other things to say, just skype/pm me.
