Oakland Hills (private)

Cody and Nemo went into the hills, looking around. He sighed a bit- this place gave him chills a bit, especially at night, but he had Char and Nemo. He looked down; he could see the most of the camp from here. "Amazing," he whispered, smiling and sitting down. In the distance, he could see the lights of New Rome shining bright. Nemo sat beside him,

"It truly is."

Were the Oakland Hills creepy? Yeah, a bit but the view was amazing. As Charlotte sat down she could see the lights of New Rome and nearly all of camp too. It was amazing.
"This is amazing, the view is just.. wow." she said. This reminded her of a quote that she had heard. It isn't how many breaths you take its the moments that take your breath away. something like that. But this was probably one was those moments.

Cody sighed at the beauty of it.

A Lar appeared next to them. "Hello. Are you supposed to be up here?"

Cody quickly turned t it.

The voice gave Charlotte a fright. When she turned around and relaxed when she saw that it was just a Lare. They were quite annoying to her but she dealt with it.
"Uh yes. We are meant to be up here. One, because the view is amazing and Two, because we were told to come here to meet a friend... I don't think they are coming though..." she lied with the confidence she always had. Did her lies work? About 60% of the time.

"Who was the friend, out of curiousity?"

Charlotte was hoping that the lar wouldn't ask questions about it. "Ruby... I can't quite remember her last name though." she said. She hoped that she wouldn't have to bring up her name but she did.

"Ruby, that young girl? Didn't she pass away a couple months ago or so?"

"Wait, what, who?" Nemo asked.

Charlotte swallowed hard and bit her lip. Her plan was failing and the lar knew about her. She felt like she couldn't breathe as she remembered the past memories. This was the only time where she was speechless and just wanted to run.

Cody came up behind Char and hugged her. "I don't think Char wants to talk about it," he whispered, trying to make her feel more comfortable.

The Lar growled. "Fine. But leave now or face consquences."

Charlotte felt Cody wrap his arms around her from behind. Her tense body suddenly relaxed and hearing his voice calmed her down. She felt a bit disappointed that they had to leave now and honestly she kind of wanted too. Though she also wanted to stay.

"Let's go," Cody whispered to her.

Charlotte nodded. She broke away from Cody's hug and began to walk away while holding his hand. She just hoped that she wouldn't be asked about who Ruby was.
