    orion
    run.

orion didn't know she could move so fast. she sped past trees, jumped over small bushes, and blasted through thickets full of spiky branches. the girl occasionally looked behind her to see if it still was on her heels, and on her heels it was.

it all started with the demigod wanting to observe and learn about the creature. she wanted to learn all about it. she was lucky that she wasn't the daughter of some big-shot god. it made her undetectable to most monsters. not this one though. this one had seemingly smelled her from miles away.

now here she was, running away from the bustling center of camp and towards the ocean. the demigod didn't want to attract the creature towards others. sure, she would then be able to get help with killing it, but then again, other people might get injured trying to do so. orion simply ran. fast.

soon enough, there wasn't enough land for orion. the ocean lay dead ahead of her and the leviathan lurked behind her. the demigod turns around and holds her arms down by her sides, ready for the fight that lay ahead. her celestial bronze plated gloves were ready to punch and her knee-length boots that were plated with celestial bronze were ready to kick. orion had all the weapons she needed, but did she have the skill to take on this creature?

would she be able to do this single-handedly? would she be able to defeat a hydra all by herself?

The huntress had been walking around for a while, Tasmaka following behind. There were the stranges looks that Tasmaka had gotten because well, she's a wolf and most people don't see wolves around camp that much. The girl couldn't really see so she payed no attention to that, if she did it'd be hell all over. It was cold but she didn't mind, which was partly why she didn't have her parka and was only wearing a Supernatural tee shirt (she loved that show) and black jeans with her combat boots. The cold felt good on her face while they were walking around aimlessly.
'Are we lost?' Chris had finally decided to ask after not hearing any chatter of any demigods for a while. The peace and quiet was nice for a moment but after a while you'd get scared when your vision doesn't work.
'Oh, uh, bad news, we are lost. Somewhere in the forest.' Chris groaned and face palmed. She relies mostly on Tasmaka's guidance and sometimes thats not always the best option. 'The good news is that we're by the ocean.' Tasmaka then said mentally, lapping up some of the water after, making Chris groan again. How is that good news?

She would've asked more, then a scream was heard. It was faint and it didn't sound the least bit human or animal.
'Tasmaka, come.' The wolf didn't like dog commands but when she saw her partner running of, and narrowly missing a tree, the wolf pawed after her. The pair was running a while, Chris had brought Νύχτα out from her left boot while Fría was still in her other, when another scream, or roar, was heard, this time very close. The wolf heard it this time and boy was she scared but she didn't let it show. At least, not when she told Chris to stop and saw what the monster was.
'Hyrda.' Chris's eyes went wide. She had heard the stories, she knew about hydras, and now there was the possibility of her fighting one. But apparently that wasn't the only thing there. 'Its going after a girl! She looks around your age, minus those hundreds of years you have.' That would've provoked the huntress but she let it slide for now. At the moment she was more focused on the hydra, though she couldn't see its attention turning from the girl to her.

    orion
orion had no where to move. the hydra had her cornered. the demigod was not going to give up without a fight though. she puts her fists up by her face, awaiting for the hydra to lunge, so she could hopefully deliver some devastating blows. the creature never struck. this confused orion for a few seconds, but soon realizes that the monster had found another demigod to attack.

"watch out!" the girl shouts to the other demigod, who also appeared to be a girl. the hydra had turned its full attention to the other girl, and watching her get demolished was the last thing that orion wanted to witness. orion takes in a deep breath before lunging towards the monster, shooting a few bolts out of her gloves towards the beast. the bolts deflected off of its skin as if it was nothing. this will be harder than i thought.

past lessons on mythological creatures taught by chiron rush through her head, feeding information to the demigod. how could have i forgot? the demigod reprimands herself as she rushes to the other girl's side. "we have to decapitate all of its heads in rapid succession!" orion exclaims as she prepares for the hydra to lunge at the other demigod.

Chris didn't need to hear the girl to yell at her to move out of the way, her ears picked up its foot movements and she jumped out of the way before the hydra charged right at the girl. Tasmaka was lucky as well, the wolf scampered after its partner. Chris sighed before raising a hand to her wolf. This was no place for the wolf, Chris wouldn't know what to do if something happened to Tasmaka.
Stay back but give me the 4-1-1. At first Tasmaka wasn't so happy but she soon trotted to a far enough distance for her to be able to see. Now it was Emma's turn. With her daggers in hand, the huntress ran right to where the hydra was. It didn't see her at the moment, it was far too busy with the other girl.

Try the leg slash. Chrissie knew that it wouldn't help that much but what else would help? With a couple of swings, her daggers made some slashes though it didn't make that much damage. Chris could tell by the little sound was made.

"Any ideas on how we'll do that exactly?" She yelled to the other girl, swinging her daggers a couple times.

"no, but i do know that attacking its legs, or anywhere that isn't the neck for that matter, is futile!" orion shouts as she dodges a head of the hydra. the head smashes into the ground next to her, but is almost immediately back in the air and ready to strike again. orion looks around at her surroundings. there was no way to use the environment to her advantage. sure, maybe if it was colder out she could bring the temperature down, which would hopefully make the monster sluggish, but she couldn't do so.

"the best course of action at the moment is to just make a break for it and hope we lose it in the forest!" orion suggests to the other girl. there was no way that the two would be able to take on a hydra by themselves. there would need to be around two other demigods fighting the beast for them to actually take it down, orion supposed. once again, the demigod tries to shoot some bolts at the creature's neck, but they simply deflect off of its scaly armor.

"yeah, get out of here!" she shouts once again as the beast lets out a roar that rattled the girl's bones.

Another roar was heard and Chris's fragile ears started throbbing the slightest but she lived. It was a little hard to hear the other girl speaking, most of it was a bunch of mumbles. All Chris knew what was happening was that the hydra had left, the girl's voice leaving as well. It was only quiet for a second before she heard Tasmaka next to her, nudging the huntress's leg.
The girl took off. We should probably follow her, even though she said to split up. No, that won't do any good. That girl could get killed and it might be partially Chris's fault. No one is dying right now.
"No, lets go." And with that Chris took off, the wolf scampering after her. Sometimes the hunters makes bad designs but she was pressured at the moment. Luckily she didn't hit any trees but she could here the loud footsteps. If only she had her arrows....

    orion
orion ran ask fast as she could. her stamina was starting to drain though, thanks to her previous run in with the hydra and then from attempting to fight it. as she ran, she tried to keep the other girl in her sights. she didn't want to lose her. the last thing orion wanted was to have to fight the hydra all by herself. hopefully she would be able to lose it.

and lose it she did. every so often the girl would look behind her to see where the beast was, and eventually it wasn't there. either she lost it, or the creature had found some other person or monster to snack on. the demigod doesn't stop there though. she blasts through the woods until she hits the creek, which, for the most part, wasn't occupied by monsters. once she stops running, the girl plops herself down onto a large, flat rock and takes in deep breaths. she had lost the other girl while running, even though that was the opposite of her goal. with a sigh, orion stretches out and takes in her surroundings. everything seemed safe for once, and that left the demigod in a good, but tired mood.

The roars of the hydra had disappeared and it was silent. Chris was pretty thankful for that, it had probably disappeared or was killed. The first option was probably the most likely, it'd take a junior Hercules to kill that thing. Her running ceased and she soon found herself walking again, Tasmaka finally catching up with its partner. The pants coming from the wolf proved how tired she was, Chris was pretty fast.
The question was, where is the girl from before? She had probably gotten away but where? Hopefully she hadn't died, Cheis didn't want the fact that a girl had died around her and she wasn't able to do anything. The pair soon came to a creek, the sound of the rushing water pretty soothing to the huntress's ears.
The girl is here! On the rock to the right. Cheis sighed in content at that. Good, they were both safe. Walking over to the girl, not without almost falling into the creek, she was soon in front of the girl.

    "Are you alright?" She asked.

    orion
orion watches as the girl from earlier makes her way up to her, a wolf by her side. the animal must've been her pet. orion hadn't noticed it back when they were confronted by the hydra. the demigod turns her gaze up to meet the other demigod's eyes. wolves weren't normally allowed as an animal for campers, so what did that make this girl?

"are you a hunter of artemis?" orion finds herself blurting out.

ooc; so sorry about the size! i just wanted to get a post out!

She was okay. Chris was slightly content with knowing that she wasn't the cause of any injuries to the girl. She laughed though at her little outburst. Was it that obvious? Then again, nobody at camp probably see's a girl walking around with a wolf at her side like a guard dog so Chris should've seen this coming.

"Is it that obvious?" She smiled, earning a very annoyed face from Tasmaka. "To answer your question, yes, my name is Chrissie though I go by Chris. My mother's Oreithyia." That was a lot to take in.
