the arows of cupid

Rhy had decided to go to the range today. He grabbed a bow and started to notch an arrow in.

Having nothing else to do with my time, I decided to go archery training. Not that I wasn't already good enough, I just hadn't had trained in a while. The Archery Range was usually empty, since most demigods prefered swords and Apollo kids were too superior to join with the rest of us, choosing to train in the range behind their cabin, so I wasn't surprised to be on my own. While I was warming up with some streching, a boy came in. At first, I thought he had gotten lost but when he started preparing to shoot I realised he indeed wanted to train. I sat amused and watched for a second before walking up to him. "You're holding it wrong"I accused

Thy shot just as the girl told him he was holding it wrong. To be honest Rhy never though about how he held the bow. Then he looked at the target and saw it was a bullseye. Rhy smirked. "Then how come that happened?" He gestured to the arrow perfectly in the target.

I shrugged and rolled my eyes."Luck. You're still holding it wrong. If you go like that in a battle, your mother must be Tyche in order for us to see you ever again"I informed him.

"My mom is mortal. Also the bow really isn't my main weapon. This is," Rhy transforms one of his rings into a sai and throws it at the target. Then he finds that it had split the arrow.

"Then why are you practicing archery?"I asked confused and extended my hands to take the bow

"Because you never know when you will need to use a bow.  I am just trying to be prepared if the only weapon availible is a bow. And also why does it really matter how you are holding it as long as you hit your target efficiently?" Rhy walks over to the target anandrabs his sai and transforms it bacback unit a ring.

"Because it will get you killed! Wrong position of the body caused delay in reactions. Unsecure hold may cause your bow to slip out of your grasp. By making sure you have a right hold on it you increase your chances of success. Need me to go on?"I asked

"Never thought about it that way. Guess you learn something new everyday. So how was I holding it wrong?"

"Well, first of all, you pull the string too losely. Your fingers need to reach your eye. And you put your middle and ring finger below the arrow. And you need to learn to realease the arrow correctly. That's the basic"I shrugged and grinned. "Try it"

Rhy did as she said. When he released the arrow it went to the second most inner ring. Why is the right way so strange.. "No wonder why the lazy of the Apollo kids hate archery lessons. But at least I felt a little more stablity this time."

I smiled encourangingly and nodded."It takes a while to get used to it; especially if you've been practicing with the wrong way. You'll get the hand of it over time. It took me a year to even be able to pull the string as far as it had to go"I added

Rhy shrugs shoots another arrow the proper way. This time it lands in the center. "Also my name is Rhyolo." He awkwardly puts out his hand to shake. Well he was kinda embarrassed that he was wrong. And on top of that he was flustered because he was near a pretty girl.

"I'm Helen, pleased to meet you. So, what is that weapon you have there?"I asked after shaking his hand and pointing at his ring

"It is just one of my trusty sai." He turns both of the rings into true form. "I usually use these for close range. But as you saw earlier I can throw them. "

"Oh. Seems like an interesting weapon choice. Not the standard sword type. Good. Original. I like it"I nodded and grinned to myself."Besides, it seems like a trustworthy weapon"I added quickly

"I have two more weopns concealed. Want to see?"

"Sure!"I shrugged and motioned for him to go on

He then took off his watch and it transformed into a katana. "I made this here katana with no tools except a hammer and my hands. I didn't even use the fires in the forge. But I did use fire.  I usually use this for a regular battle with a monster.  or I use it  when I don't use my sai."

I nodded appreciatevly."Impressive"I agreed and ran my fingertips over tha blade.

Rhy puts away the rest of his weapons. He grabs his pen and shows it to her. "This one is one of my favorites. It was from my dad." He than clicks it and it transforms into the massive stygian iron sword. "If you think this is impressive then wait." He then turns to the target and shoots a fire ball at it. Then the whole thing burns to ashes.

I raised my hand, palm facing down towards the target and it slowly rebuilt itself."That was okay I guess."I shrugged and went over to pack my things, realising I wouldn't get much practicing done today

"Did you do that? The whole target rebuilding thing?" Rhyolo was now interested in this pretty girl.

"No, it did it on it's own"I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes."Of course I did that, silly!"

"How? Let me guess, hecate kid?"
