Cooking with the Bae Empty Cooking with the Bae

Before going to Laure's villa, Richard had to pick up some fresh ingredients for the cuisine that he had planned to make with his girlfriend? No, they're not 'official' yet so let's call them really good friends. Anyway, Richard headed inside a Fresh Market and started to look around for ingredients that he needed. Clicking his tongue, as he scanned the produce. He wanted to the ripest , most ready vegetables and goods for his dish. He kinda wished that a child of Ceres or Pomona was with them to help decide which ones to get. The demigod just picked out which ones looked more amazing than the last and bought everything he needed.

Richard had decided to wear a pair of blue jeans with a gray hoodie. He hoped that he didn't looked too under dressed for the date. Richard headed toward the neighborhood of Laure, keeping his concealed sword in his side pants pocket. He soon came to her villa and knocked on the door three times, creating a short beat.

Laure opened the door a couple of seconds later. "Hey!" she beamed, hugging Richard and taking the opportunity to inhale his scent. Musky cedar. It was warm, making her blood pump faster so she quickly drew away before he could feel the increase in her heart beat.

Today, she was dressed in a light violet summer dress with a braided leather belt in a beige tone, stalking on purple caged high heels. A couple of golden charm bracelets glistened on her wrists and a mauve silk flower pinned her hair over her shoulder in a ponytail.

Richard smiled as the door opened, revealing the beautiful Laure. The demigod hugged her back, tightly, kissing her on the cheek before letting go and stepping inside. "I love your dress, babe." He blushed deeply, his face turning a shade of pink. Did he really just called her "babe"? "Uh, sorry, I mean, Laure." Richard laughed a bit before walking into the villa and placing the brown paper bag of goods on the table. "Ready to start cooking?"

    "You bet!"

They went into the kitchen and started taking the ingredients out; Laure had opened a French gastronomy book and was browsing through it with Richard. "Which one should we do?" she asked. "The quiche? The poulet provençal?"

Richard looked through the book, feeling the pages as he read the ingredient lists. "I don't mind, as long as it involves some type of meat. "He stated with a smirk before straightening his back and crossing his arms. "Oh, is there one with chicken in it?" Richard asked Laure. He could tell that this was going to be a very interesting date.

"They're several," Laure said, looking through it. "I'd advise the poulet provençal though, it's delicious." And it also made her think of her holidays with her father in the Provence, where her grandparents lived. They would hike around the hills, enjoy the sun while listening to the buzzing of cicadas, play with her cousins in the ice cold torrents and attend mass in the village's old church. Neither of them were Christian, but her grandparents and cousins were so when church was on, everybody went.

"Oh! Then let's do it!" He exclaimed, kissing her forehead quickly. He went to pull out the fresh ingredients from his bag. "Do you mind reading the list out to me then?" He asked her as he took out a long loaf of bread from the bag.

"One chicken," she translated, "olive oil, four tomatoes..."

She read the list of ingredients, sometimes stopping to remember how this or that French word translated into English before putting the book on the wood table in the middle of the kitchen once she was done. While Richard preheated the oven, she poured some olive oil in a small bowl before adding milled garlic, some herbes de Provence, and a bit of salt and pepper. Together, they placed the chicken into a dish and smeared the olive oil on it with special food brushes her stepmother had brought back from France on her last visit, chatting and laughing about what had recently happened in Camp Jupiter. Then they cut the tomatoes and placed the slices around the chicken before putting it into the oven.

"Now we can wait thirty minutes," Laure grinned, passing her hands under the water to clean them from the grease and the tomato juice. As usual, she had managed to cook without staining her clothing, which was always a plus -- especially on a date.

Richard nodded and started to get everything ready for their meal together. About half way through the date, he had turned on some classical music for them to listen to. The moment was perfect as he talked with Laure. Today would be the day that he would officially asked her to be his one and only girlfriend. "Hey do you have any fruit drinks?" He asked her as he looked inside the fridge.

"Yes of course, tons of them!" Laure chuckled. She loved fruit juice -- well, she loved making cocktails (including virgin ones) out of them. She showed him the bottles of orange juice, apple juice, cherry juice, grenadine, etc. in the second compartment of the fridge. "If you want we can go back to the patio while the chicken cooks, or up into my room, as you wish." She realized she hadn't shown him her room yet, guess they could sit on the couch to chat a bit if he was up for it. On the patio, they could enjoy the sun and the hot weather, like last time, which had been fabulous.

He scanned the fridge and nodded. "Oh yeah, here they are." Richard stated as he pulled out some strawberry and peach juice. The other night, Richard had looked online to find a wonderful cocktail recipe that he thought both him and Laure would like. The demigod started to get out two glasses and some pineapple slices. "Uh, I would love to see your room." He said with a smile as he searched for a drink mixer.

Laure came closer to him, looking at the glasses he was filling before taking the drink mixer. "What are you doing?" she asked with a side smile, her thick honey-colored hair flowing down to her ribcage as she leaned against the counter.

"I'm going to make us some drinks." He said, looking over his shoulder as he gently took the drink mixer from her. He poured the strawberry and peach bases into the mixer before taking about a half of cup of alcohol. He screwed on the lid before mixing the drinks together shaking the can roughly.

"Aw, so nice of you!" she smiled, briefly turning away to check on the oven. The chicken's skin was starting to get a golden color, perhaps twenty more minutes till taking it out. She looked back at Richard mixing the cocktails and went to help him, crushing some ice in advance.

Richard smiled at Laure, dancing to the sound of the drink mixer shaking around. He poured the drinks into the two glasses, making a clanking noise in the classes. The drink was a red, orange color with a touch of green. "Now all we need are the pineapple slices and we will be able to taste my first attempt of making this." Richard stated, nudging her.

"Here you go," she smiled, cutting a bit of pineapple off and putting the fresh slices on the glass's rims.

She gave him a glass, took the remaining one and grinned at Richard. "Let's go up?" she asked and went out of the kitchen towards the modern staircase, climbing it up quickly but careful not to shed any of her drink on the steps.

"Sure! I wanna talk to you about something anyway." He said with a smile as he followed her up the deck. It truly was a beautiful day outside and he wanted to spend it with Laure. The breeze was on point as well as the salty scent in the air. Today would be the day that he would make it official.

"Oh really? What would that be?" Laure asked with an amused smile.

Once in the second story, she walked down a corridor and opened a door to the left, entering a large room with ombre yellow and orange walls, breezy white gauze curtains in front of huge windows and strings of lamps. Her bed was done in soft apricot and cherry colors, some mirrors hung around along with pictures and posters of pop groups; it was tidy, everything had its place.
Laure sat down on her bed, putting her feet on the oversized pillows that occupied part of the floor, sipping her drink.

Richard followed her into Laure's bedroom and smiled. "This is totally you, Laure." He said as he looked the room over. The demigod walked over to a somewhat blank wall and tapped his chin. "Hm, I bet that painting would go perfectly right her." He pointed to the orange wall with his index finger.

He turned back around to face Laure before asking her the question. "So, we've been going steady for a while now and I just wanted to ask if you would be my girlfriend?"

Now that was expected/unexpected. She knew Richard had a crush on her -- well, she was almost sure he did -- but she hadn't thought he'd ask her out point blank. In any way, there was only one correct answer to that.

She walked over to him, putting her drink down on her desk and placed her elbows on his shoulders. "I'll think about it," she said and softly placed her lips against his, moving them slowly.

Richard smiled and touched her waist. "You'll think about it? I can wait." He whispered as they're looks were close. This just seemed right to him. Being with Laure made him feel complete and safe. Richard acted like he was about to kiss her on the lips, but did an upward dive to her forehead, kissing it gently. "Laure you make me so happy, everytime I'm around you, my stomach feels like butterflies are nesting inside." He admitte, holding her close.
