Life Before CHB: Born in Otaka, Japan on November fifteenth to Reika Watanabe, a very well-off Japanese painist. Shortly before she turned two, her mother brought her to the United States and they settled down in New York City. Reika, who spoke very little English, found a job at a sushi bar. Mya wondered about why she had an American name while her mother had a distinctly Japanese one, but never really let that dissuade her. (It was actually because Reika considered Amelia Earhart to be a rolemodel, so she named her daughter after her). Due to a large interest in music, Mya started to play the guitar at the age of eight. Mya was homeschooled up until she turned twelve (Reika knew the reason of this) and soon found herself 'found' by a satyr. Both the satyr and her mother explained and then Mya was off to Camp Half-Blood.
RP Example: Light koto-music played in the background of the Wasashi Sushi Bar, calming all the customers and putting them in a state of tranquility. The scent of sage incense burned throughout the shop, along with the scent of fish which was a distinctly calming scent to a girl who sat at the bar. She leaned over the table, her elbows resting on the wooden surface. She lightly rocked her seat, keeping in time to the music. A plate of untouched sushi sat in front of her, she kept knocking it back and forth across the plate with her chopsticks. Finally giving in to the temptation of the treat, she deftly picked it up with her chopsticks and stuck it in her mouth. Her eyes rolled back into her head at the wonderful taste of the dish, causing the cook - Ryo - and her mother to laugh.
"Oh Mya, what are we ever going to do with you?" Reika Watanabe, her mother, asked. Amelia, or Mya as she was informally called, grinned.
"Give me some money so I can pick up a new set of strings?" Mya saw her mother start to frown and she instantly clasped her hands. "Oh please Ota-san! Please please please!"
