ooc: open to any Hunters, just be aware that there's no posting order bc thats crappy

also be prepared for a monster attack at all time

    bic:

Bri was visiting her mother in Chicago, getting away from Camp from a while for the mid-to-the-end summer. Besides Lizzie and a few others, she didn't have that many friends at CJ, so she may have slightly rudely left without anyone's consent, except the authorities such as Reyna, the praetor. She needed to get away to vent out and think, think about her life chooses. She told Lizzie she wanted to become a Hunter, which was 99% true, but she wasn't so sure what to do. She would admittedly miss camp, and also, she would become stuck at 16. Never grow up, unless she quit the Hunt, which was probably not possible. Never went to college, get a job, have a family, any of that. But Bri may have wanted to become that, always on the prowl, always on the hunt (pun intended), always on an adventure. Her head hurt.

She sat in the local and nearest coffee shop at midnight, which her mother specifically told her wasn't safe, and she was p'ed off at her mom's stereotypes and slightly sexist behavior that a 16 year old girl couldn't go alone to a coffee shop in Chicago at night. OKay, that may have just been protecting her, but she didn't care, so she stormed out of the house and came here. Plus, she was 75% god, no man was gonna...get near her without a butt whooping. Once the waitress came over with her latte, she tipped and paid the lady and started looking out of the window at the rain coming down. Bri took a sip of the warm drink, it reminded her of the Mess Hall's, which she didn't want reminded of. It was honestly not that good compared to Starbucks, but not all coffee was created equal.

Bri heard a thunder crackle, and got away from the window in fright as the power went out. Jupiter must've really been mad about something. Then again, she imagined Jupiter of one of those guys that was always mad, with a frown. She chuckled at the thought.

ooc: okay so in the form I may have messed up and put that she had a mortal father that had her with Volturnus, but that would make her father a bisexual person/homosexual person, which was unintended and not scientifically possible but I meant mother so yeah Roberta not Robert ignore the form forms lie and i'm sorry for being stupid

also i'll remake her form as a hunter after this topic

Chicago wasn't Abigail's ideal place of mortal residence. She would always have a secret soft spot for home, Los Angeles, but other than that she was more of a fan of small towns. And beyond that, she now was able to live off the land without any problem. She looked around, knowing that none of these people stood a chance in any primitive survival scenario. Still, in the back of her mind, Abigail couldn't help but wonder what Andrew would say if he was here. He'd probably say something about the Chicago Blackhawks being a horrible sports team, but make sure he said it in front of a sports shop.

That was certainly her wonderful idiot of a brother.

She couldn't help but eye the thrift store they had passed. It was called The Brown Elephant, and no matter how much Abigail denied it, she so badly wanted to go in. Of course, her body language indicated absolutely none of this. There was no time for thrift shops. They had a job to do. And although she wasn't so psyched to be travelling with the somewhat English speaker, Asina, there was no weak people with them. Abigail could only hope that this new initiate was one of the strong ones. Society and communities only moved forward when they were filled with strong people.

Abigail didn't do street clothes. She had her hunting gear clothing and her extra casual, only for use at Camp Half-Blood itself. From her trousers to her tankard, it was clear she wasn't dressed up for a day for fun in the sun. Her folding knife was tucked securely in her pocket, while her bowie knife was tucked under her vest. No bow today, sadly, too conspicuous.

"My bet is the Starbucks." Abigail voiced to her sisters of the hunt. Starbucks used to be one heck of a trend in high school, she remembered. She held back a remark about Asina and Starbucks, deciding that there was a time to fight and a time to not. Now was a time to not. Unless, of course, things got interesting.

For all the hell that Asina constantly caught for not being caught up with the times, she blended in with the modern look more than Abigail next to her did. The ancient Hunter was wearing her standard black combat boots, but with black jeans, a blue t-shirt that proudly proclaimed Viva La Pluto! with a cartoon of the planet, and a grey and black flannel shirt thrown overtop. Her hair was combed and spiked into its faux-hawk. The only thing that looked out of place was the leather purse on her black studded belt, or possibly the large knife on her belt as well, but both were usually hidden by her flannel shirt.

The daughter of Pluto played with one of her hacky sacks as they walked, since Abby was not much of a talker, and she needed something to do with her hands. Then Abby spoke, suggesting Starbucks. "I don't think that's a Starbucks, I think that's a Starbucks knock-off." Asina said, looking at the sign. "But I agree. Let's try that one. Oy, Orchestra, what say you?" The other Hunter's name was Symphony, but Asina almost always called her Orchestra, based on confusion when the mortal had first joined the Hunt in the 60's.

Symphony both hated and loved being out in the open. She loved it because she had a chance to act modern and see how life was outside of the Hunter Camp, and she hated it because of all the stuff on the news she heard alongside with hipsters trying to pass off what she wore back in her day as "trendy" and "vintage". It made her want to punch something, or someone, or anything really. She walked with the other girls with her hands in the back of her jean shorts, a large wad of bubble gum in her mouth to keep her from shouting something that might get her and the others in trouble. Her hair was styled in her usual way - two large puffs on the top of her head - and wore a loose black t-shirt over a silver undershirt.

"Like, first off, my name is Symphony. Not 'Orchestra', not 'Concert', not 'Harmony', not any other synonym. Symphony." She never really had a problem with Asina other than her apparent inability to remember her name. The girl always called her 'Orchestra'. It got annoying. This was part of the reason why she preferred Margot out of most of the hunters. Not only did it give her a walking buddy, but Margot also sometimes used terms similar her own since they both joined the Hunt in the 80s. Symphony blew a bubble and popped it before giving her opinion on Starbucks. Personally, she thought Starbucks was overrated and was glad that they were going to a fake instead. "Second of all, why would we look at a coffee place? Like, it's midnight. Who gets coffee at midnight?" Even as she said it, she did have a strong feeling that they would find the initiate inside of the bootleg Starbucks. She probably just wanted to disagree as usual.

Margot loved Chicago. She loved the buildings, the trees, the pigeons, and sometimes even the people. She never knew how much she missed home until she returned to it. Of course, it had changed since the eighties. Less neon and more cellphones. Still, it the city bore the same look, keeping Margot trapped between the past and present. She remembered her days before being immortal, hanging around the city and doing things that teenagers did. She had that rebellious phase right before she joined the hunt. She smoked, stayed out late, argued with her mom. One could even say joining the hunt was a part of that. Still, she had no regrets. None that continuously haunted her anyways. Sure, sometimes she wished she could go see her mom. But she wasn't even living here anymore. Her parents had done the thing that old people did and moved to a tropical climate. Besides, her house was on the other side of town. It would be silly to make everyone go over there. They had something to do, and she couldn't get distracted.

Margot walked purposefully next to Symphony, occasionally shouting out random information that nobody really needed or wanted to hear. "One time my friend Lizzie and I vandalized that bridge." She said, pointing to a train overpass that was covered with spray paint. She wasn't even sure if anyone had heard her over the pounding rain and thundering. She had foolishly refused to put the hood of her jacket up, and now her dark hair was starting to get drenched with rain. When they stopped outside of a coffee shop, Margot was all too happy to get a chance to dry off.
"Does it matter what kind of coffee shop it is? Coffee is coffee."

"Why would you not want to drink coffee at midnight? Coffee is blessed by the entire pantheon at any hour." Asina said, though she wouldn't admit that she had a bit of a coffee addiction. "So, let's try it. Besides, the call said she would be at a cafe." Asina said, pulling her hacky sack out and throwing it back and forth between her hands absently. "Romans are weird anyway."

Bri looked up at the sight of four teenager-ish girls, which she would've have suspected anything about, it was normal to be in a group of friends, especially in a city like Chicago. But, one was dressed...different than the others. She would use the word 'oddly,' but honestly, she seen more odd things. She decided to just ignore it right now, and hope that she was going to be attacked by vicious monsters. She took a sip of her coffee, hearing the thunder getting worst, and the lightning.

Next thing she knew the power was out, but they must've had one of those generator things, and the lights came back on. Bri rolled her eyes. Jupiter was probably angry because...well, let's not go there. She really didn't want to be zapped by lightning by a god.

"Fine. We'll hit the cafe, but, like, don't say I didn't tell you so when she's not in here." She wanted to get out of the rain anyway; she did not want to spend the rest of the walk back to the campsite wrestling with her hair. Symphony put her hand on the door handle and opened it up to enter - just when the thunder crackled and the lights inside shut off.  The mortal hunter groaned, stomping her foot hard enough for the knife concealed on the inside of her Converse to poke her calf. "Well isn't this just great?"

The lights flickered back on for whatever reason. Her eyes adjusted then scanned the inside of the coffee shop in hope that it would be easy to find the newest recruit. She didn't know what she was expecting, maybe a cardboard sign that said "IN NEED OR HUNT" or something. Symphony stopped chewing her gum to use her A plus detective skills. The only other person there besides an elderly man asleep with a newspaper and a teenaged girl...honestly the Hunters were lucky to have Symphony's logical reasoning. She glanced at Margot, nodding in the direction of the teenager.

Asina noticed the teenager and the nod from Symphony, who had been flat wrong."So where is that I told you so, Symphony?" Asina asked wryly, shaking the water out of her short blue hair. She straightened, then headed to the girl's table and sat down. "Ave, Romana. Asina est nomen muem, serves sum Dianae." Her voice trilled over the Latin most naturally. It felt comfortable to her, but she wasn't going to keep speaking in it where her Greek counterparts would not understand. "We are Hunters of our lady Diana. Let me introduce to thee. Symphony, Margot, and Abigail. Ye don't harbour any hatred towards the Graecii, doest thou?

Bri's head went from the window when the girl sat by her. She got a bit tense, and might have tried to run, when she started speaking in Latin. She understood, and then she introduced herself and the other teenage girls as Hunters of Diana, or as Greeks knew them, Artemis. She smiled. "I'm Bri. I don't have...much against graecii, no. I'm a daughter of Volturnus, and a legacy of Vulcan." She said the last part quietly.

"Creepy." Margot stated as the lights shut off then flickered back on. It was very horror movie-esque. Although she hoped that there weren't any axe murders waiting for them, because that would be a huge downer on their little excursion.
Margot pulled up a chair, taking a seat next to Asina. She looked at Abigail and Symphony, motioning for them to do the same. If they all stood around awkwardly it could bring them some unwanted attention. Besides they had just walked through half of Chicago and her feet were killing her. She listened to the girl's introduction, taking a moment to remember which gods she had mentioned. God, Roman to Greek and vice versa was complicated. Volturnus didn't sound familiar, but she was like, 75% sure that Vulcan was from star trek.
"Well you're in luck, Bri, we only have one graecii with us." Margot said, glancing around the coffee shop.

Gods, Abigail missed coffee. The scent of it was pungent in the place. She'd always hated the bitter taste of black coffee, but over the course of her high school life, she'd learned to love what she hated. Of course, being a hunter meant that you often weren't living in places with luxuries readily available. And Abigail took pride in that.

"Actually, you're not in luck." Abigail corrected, speaking up without hesitation. She knew better than to scold a newcomer to the hunt. It was just like how she knew better than to butt heads with her sisters. Sadly, Abigail had a problem with taking insults, even if they weren't meant to be insulting. "It doesn't matter to me in the slightest if you dislike 'graecii.'" Abigail let it become apparent that she was the Greek among them. "But, if you begin to act on that, I'll show you that you're screwing with the wrong Greek." Abigail made the promise, openly.

She glanced back to Asina. As if to sheepishly let her know yeah, yeah, I know, no harassing newbies.. Abigail knew her place, and attempted to keep to it, though often all it was as simply an attempt. "Formalities aside. You're here to join the hunt. Do you feel ready? Life with the hunters is real different from Camp Jupiter."

Asina sighed and covered her face with her hands for a moment as she muttered under her breath in Latin about working with idiots. "Regardless, Abby, whatever your opinion about being a Graeca or desire to establish dominance is, that the point of the question had nothing to do with you personally, and more to do with the fact that there are roughly five times as many Graecii Hunters than Roman. Given the fact that Romans and Greeks know about each other again..."

Asina straightened and looked at Bri again.."Abigail is correct that Hunting is nothing like Camp Jupiter. We have no rigid Roman structure, no home base, no permanent place at all. We travel, often daily, with Lady Diane. Eschewing the company of men completely. You will not age. Abby is close to her actual age. Margot is around 30. Symphony was born in the 1950's I believe."

She raised a brow as she listened to the eldest hunter start muttering comments under her breath in her crazy Latin. She wanted to call her out on it, but, now was not a good time. On mission, she had to act in some sort of good conduct. "Abigail." The hunter corrected. She wasn't crazy about being called Abby, though it didn't offend her, it reminded her of her brother. Abigail had forgotten how far she'd come so fast. She'd worked with nothing but deep conviction, in her desire to prove herself. She was only twenty-one. "Being young isn't so bad. Trust me, you lose touch with the times before you know it." Abigail said to Bri. She could only imagine what the world would be like in twenty years, let alone two-hundred years.

"Being a hunter is no cake walk." Abigail continued for Asina. "The blessing and immortality are gifts from Artemis herself. Lovely bachelorette number 1," Abigail nodded towards Asina. "Is 1,800 years old. You learn a lot in that time. You can learn that much too, if the commitment in your heart." Abigail said, as it was her own aspiration. She felt as though all hunters should wish to learn like that. "But, there's a sacred oath. It's your one-way ticket in." Abigail knew that many hunters left at one point or another. The thought made her furious, that people would break the oath just because they had tired of the hunt.
