    BIC:

A quick summary: Adan didn't know what was going on and Malecai knew exactly what was going on. Malecai went by the Hephaestus cabin that morning to pick Adan up for brunch with Marina and a girl named Nadia. Upon arrival, Adan asked a few questions as to why the son of Athena was dressed so nicely and Malecai ignored all of them and instead hailed a taxi to take them to Penelope in New York. It wasn't as crowded inside as Malecai thought it would be, which was good because the less people to see him out in public with the mountain of a man beside him the better. Malecai walked over to the hostess and smiled kindly as he spoke.

"Table for four, please? Two more people will be arriving shortly." He looked back at Adan, who was currently messing with the pictures on clothes pins near the door, and rolled his eyes. Malecai should have pretended to be in love with that happy Apollo kid. When he turned to the hostess, she had a knowing look on her face.

"Oh, is this your guy pal?" She mused. Malecai stared at her strangely. Did she just make a male-version of the term "gal pal"? Oh gods, this would be a longer "date" than he thought. Instead he checked to make sure Adan wasn't listening before leaning in to the hostess.

"No, actually, he's my...boyfriend. We've been dating for a year now." He whispered. He nearly vomited at the idea of being boyfriends with Adan. He did, however, enjoy the look on the hostess' face when he said the term. Her eyes darted to the other boy (who was now trying to untangle a clothing pin from his nose ring) and she nodded curtly, leading them to a booth in the corner near a window. She moved the tables together, put down four menus, then began to walk back to her station when Malecai stopped her. "If it makes you feel better, the other people arriving are my ex-girlfriend and her new girlfriend."

"What was that all about?" Adan asked when the hostess quickly walked away. He had gotten the pin from his nose ring and was now looking at the menu with it now tangled in his tuft of a ponytail. He was hopeless. Malecai shook his head and opened his own menu to look at the drinks. "And when will the small angry one be arriving?"

"She probably hates you, who knows." Malecai looked up at Adan when he mentioned Marina and knit his eyebrows together. "Soon. But these are your rules. She comes in, you have to be on high alert. Do. Not. Take. Your. Eyes. Off. Of. Me. Got it? Rule Number Two - No sassing. You can't be distracted from this mission by talking back or else we'll both be dead. Number Three -"

Malecai stopped talking when he heard other voices from the glass behind him. Adan, who sat in front of him, looked at him out of confusion but was shushed. "That's them. Quick, hold my hand."

"What?!" He wanted to protest, but Malecai had kicked his right shin from beneath the table and grabbed his hand by force. "Son of a -"

"Oh hi, how are you ladies doing?"

    It's a Long Story Large

Of course it was Marina Wildabee's idea to have this group date, if you were asking who planned this you should go back to the prom topic because again, it was her idea. When she told her ex-boyfriend turned best friend about her new significant other and how she met her, Marina felt a little bad. She didn't know Malecai was seeing someone as fast as Marina did. To be honest Marina assumed he would be alone, forever. So when she heard that Malecai was bringing a date, she was a little surprised.

Marina spent the cab ride over to prep and warn Nadia about Malecai. It wasn't that much of a warning, just a quick briefing about him and his personality. She didn't know anything about his date, she didn't even know the gender. Marina just hoped they were sane and nice and wouldn't attack Marina nor Nadia. "Whatever happens we're still going out for coffee later." She told Nadia when they got out of the cab. She took her hand gently and led her into the restaurant. But what she saw made her drop her girlfriend's hand and try her hardest not to yell in confusion.

Last time Marina checked Adan Lightfoot hated her ex-boyfriend. More importantly Adan Lightfoot was dating her sister. Marina would've heard if Aliana broke up with him. But she didn't want to start any thing. "Adan...how surprising to see you." Marina said as she went to hug him. [color:1370=99ff00]This is Nadia.

Let's just make this perfectly clear: Nadia had no idea what was going on. At all. Just keep that in mind as this goes on. Seriously, Marina had approached her and asked her if she would be cool going on a double date with her ex boyfriend, and Nadia being the people pleaser that she was, said yes. She had no clue what she was getting herself into. First off, we see the phrase "ex-boyfriend". In fact, it was more complicated then that. It was ex-boyfriend, turned best friend. Now, Nadia could be jealous, that would be a normal thing. But really, for some reason, she wasn't. Probably because she trusted Marina wholly when she said that they were just friends. That wasn't the problem. Actually, the problem didn't arise until they were at the restaurant.

Nadia walked in with Marina, glancing around at the interior of the restaurant, thankful that the dress she wore wasn't too casual or too fancy. She wasn't even really paying attention, she just waved at Malecai and his date, until his date seemed to throw something of a fit. Marina herself seemed to tense up, still remembering to introduce Nadia.
"Hi there." Nadia replied halfheartedly while trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

"Hey, Marina. Nadia." Adan smiled only slightly through the pain, trying to pull his hand from Malecai's. He was oddly strong for his appearance. Eventually he just kicked him back from under the table and snatched his hand away, not really having to stand to hug Marina since they were almost the same height sitting down and offering a hand for Nadia to shake. What? Just because he was here on a mission to keep Malecai alive didn't mean he had to be rude. He frowned. "I don't see how it would be surprising. Dorko here said that you knew someone was coming, though honestly I don't see why I'm he -"

"OHOHO ADAN." Malecai interrupted with an exaggerated laugh. Adan gave him a questioning look and was going ask if he had a cold or something when he was, again, cut off. "He's so funny. You're so funny, Adan. Save some of that humor for when the food's served! Anyway, sit down you two. Let's chat."

    "Oh chatting -"

    "Not you, Adan."

Adan thought he was acting weird, but when didn't he? He just rolled his eyes and looked at the stupid menu. Most of the words floated off of the page and rearranged themselves, which made him even more annoyed. He wanted to go back to camp. Apparently his face showed it because, again, he was kicked beneath the table. He forced a smile.

Marina sat across from the boys, smushed up against the wall of the booth. She patted down her skirt, which almost matched Nadia's dress. They had a habit of doing that. Most of the time it is on accident.
"I never really saw you two as a thing." Marina said bluntly as she looked at the menu. She never really saw Malecai and Adan as a thing because Adan was dating her sister. If she was in a private place with just Adan, she would slap Adan senseless and drag him to the Iris cabin and make him apologize to her poor sister who does not bother a soul. But she was on her best behavior for her girlfriend. Marina never really spoke about Adan with Nadia unless Aliana was around. And on most dates in her bunk, Aliana is there and she'll join in on some conversations. So Marina was afraid Nadia would be uncomfortable. And if she was, Marina would gladly leave with her and go somewhere fun for the both of them.

At this point Nadia's confusion was probably obvious. It seemed like the only person that really knew what was going on was Malecai. In fact, the guy who was with him seemed almost as confused as she was. So she had two options, voice her confusion or stay quiet and just wait for things to sort itself out. There was no competition really, she was going to stay quiet. Needless to say this wasn't exactly how she envisioned their double date going. She assumed it was going to be less stressful, yet here she is.
