First Date Pt. Deux (Private with Alex)

This time her laughing was out of amusement. "What? Oh, wait, you must think that I'm not going to use my magic. Come on, you didn't think that I wouldn't?" Even if she did, Ryan was still a son of Ares. Fighting and war is engraved into his genetic structure.

"Oh, I never said that. I'm just saying you better not make a scene when I have to pick you up from the arena's floor."

Salem gave him a look that was a mix between pride and happiness. "If you're the one picking me off the floor, then that's fine, but I think I'll be the one picking you with my mind. Probably not because you in armor is...wow, but anyways!"

At the next stoplight, Ryan turned to Salem with a confused look. "What do you mean that I'm 'wow' when in armor?"

Salem's eyes got big, hoping that he didn't hear the 'wow; part. Well, looks like he did. "...Aren't you suppose to be focusing on the road instead of asking questions? Turn right at the light." She said quickly before reading through her spell book.

"...Alright." Ryan moved into the turning lane at the next light. However, he stopped when it turned red. "But you still haven't answered my question." he coolly said, the sounds of horns and angry New Yorkers breaking through to the inside of the car.

The daughter of Hecate cursed underneath her breathe. "...I forgot what the question was. Oops." She glanced over at him before looking down at her book.

A smirk passed across Ryan's face. "Well then; I was just wondering what you meant by 'wow' when describing me in armor." The light finally turned green, and Ryan took the right turn.

"...Well," She closed her book, "You look considerably handsome dressed in full battle armor." Salem shrugged her shoulders as if saying that wasn't a big deal.

That was...a mature response, especially for Salem's standards. "Why thank you." He stopped at another light, applying the brakes in a non-turning lane. "Which way do we go now?"

"Yeah, yeah." She waved it away and was glad that they were able to move passed that. "Uh, keep straight, then at the left and there should be a small Italian Pizzeria with the Italian flag painted onto the window."

"Ten-four." When the light changed to green, Ryan followed Salem's directions and parked outside of the pizzeria. He stepped out of the parked Chevy, quickly running over to the opposite side's door and holding it open for his date.

Salem raised an eyebrow at the son of Ares. "Ten-four? What the f*ck does that mean?" She was pleased to see Ryan open her car door for her. She would've done it herself, but she wasn't going to say that now. "Thanks. You're really gonna like this place."

"Calm down, it's just a way of saying 'got it'."

Ryan looked at the building, closing the door behind Salem. "You know what to order here?"

"Oh, okay. I thought you were using some type of war slang." Salem, please.

The daughter of Hecate nodded his head and walked toward the door of the small, family restaurant, opening the door for herself and walking inside. "Table for two, please."

"...I mean, it is, but it's used in other occupations as well."

The fact that Salem opened the door made Ryan cringe on the inside. To the son of Ares, it was an error on his part that could be used as cannon fodder sometime down the road. But for now, they were waiting to be seated. "Could we also get a spot with a good view of the front please? Not a window or anything, but a good view, you know?"

"Oh, alright then."

Their hostess took Ryan's request into consideration when finding them a place to sit. She found them an empty table that was facing the front of the family restaurant. Salem sighed, moving some loose strands of hair out from in front of her face. "You're going to like the food."

"I'd imagine I will. It's pizza; very hard to go wrong with that."

BIC: "You'd be surprised, Ryan." Once they were seated, Salem ran her fingers through her hair and smiled a bit at her date. "So, aside from being an Ares kid what else do you like doing?"
