Personality: wes has always been on the shy side unless it comes to someone in need or someone who he likes. when he sees someone who he could he could even have a slight chance with, he goes after them and doesn't give up. wes constantly worries and needs reassurance that the person that he's with, being a friend or more, still likes him and wants to be around him. when he's not writing songs and singing them in his cabin, he's constantly observing people out in the open to help. he has tons of anxiety and (obviously) TONS of gender dysphoria which sometimes causes him to lie in bed all day wondering what went wrong. when he's happy, he can bring people's moods up fast, unless they are really not in the mood. it's kind of a bad thing that he never gives up on what he wants, because that means he has faced a lot of rejection and he knows how to handle it in, sometimes, really bad ways to get what he wants.
Flaws: he overthinks things when he gets rejected so many times. he can be absent minded, especially when dysphoria hits, causing him to not pay attention to anything but his thoughts of sadness. he can be bold, but in a bad way, by over assuming something that is none of his business because he thinks that it's helping. he's a bit too gullible when it comes to people that he trusts. he would do anything they say if they didn't tell him it was a joke. wes can be indecisive between his wants and needs. if he wants to do something but needs to do something else, he will most likely choose the wants.
Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): n/a
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional): wes can take minor pain from others that will then inflict him for double the amount of time and pain. he can only do it so many times per month (4) and will pass out from how much pain has been given to him. These powers can only be used for 3 posts and 6 posts to cool down.
Life Before Camp*: wes was assigned female at birth and grew up being forced into dresses until his 7th grade year when his father stopped drinking. he had been an alcoholic since wes' mother had supposedly disappeared and only stopped because his liver started failing. whether his father was drunk or not, he was physically and emotionally abusive. he would tell wes that he was lucky to have been born a girl because he wouldn't make it as a man out in the 'real world.' 7th grade year changed wes specifically because he stood up to his father and told him that he no longer had a daughter and that, in all reality, he never had. christopher started stepping up as a father and took wes to appointments for gender therapists to start him on testosterone until him and wes got into a car accident on the way back from one of the appointments and he was killed instantly. wes, on the other hand, had been left bruised and bloodied, but nothing enough to leave scars. wes then got put into the foster care system where he was eventually put into an LGBT group home who helped fund for his testosterone and top surgery. at 15, wes ran away from this group home to new york to chase after his dream of being on broadway only to be arrested by police officers who never told him his rights and only said that they were, "taking care of business." they led him to an abandoned warehouse where a boy, who looked around 17, gave him a map and took him there, rushing him to make it by dawn. by the time that they had just arrived at camp, the boy told wes that his work was done and that he hoped he would have a happy birthday, which he hadn't realized that it was his birthday.
RP Example*: with messy hair and red cheeks, wes looked down onto his scars that had been healing ever so slowly and thought of his recovery. the redness of the line as it would move as he did. the way he had picked off pieces of cotton ball for days straight. the way he could never find a comfortable position to lie on for the first 10 days after surgery. these moments had to be cherished because it was one of the only times he could be himself and happy at the same time. each time he thought about these things, he would tear up and thank his father, hoping he could hear him.
wes put on a shirt and shaved what patchy facial hair he could grow and went to the beach to observe others like he did every wednesday at two o'clock. the people at camp really had barely any idea that he was trans, and if they did, he would ignore their ignorant comments until his dysphoria would creep in. the people around him were so curious about the water yet most of them didn't even explore it. it was as if they were scared they would be eaten for even putting a toe in the water. wes never understood people who didn't go after what they were curious about. even so, nothing he could say could lessen the fears of the weird people at this camp.
