Life Before Camp*: His mom was always bringing different guys into the house, and anytime he did anything for her, she always shrugged it off. He had written off his dad as some deadbeat who wasn't ready for commitment. He started going to more and more parties, getting more and more wasted, until he got into trouble with the law. It was that encounter that got him into the demigod world. A protector bailed him out, he had apparently been watching him for a long time.
RP Example*: Nathan sat on the beach in his shorts, without his shirt, revealing the scars that demigods often had. He didn't really care, everyone her had them. He pushed the sand beside him away to reveal a root beer bottle. He had been trying to cut down on real alcohol, but it wasn't the same. He popped the cap off and took a swig. He sighed and stared out into the lake, the sunlight reflecting off the surface of the cool water. He set the bottle aside and walked to the end of the dock, where he sat down and let his feet dangle.
