Christmas! (private)

Since Thalia had claimed Dayami, the young demigod had not really seen Jin around much. Sure she saw him at meals and occasionally during training, but he always seemed one to stay in the background. He never really reached out. And as Dayami made herself more and more at home in camp, befriending new people and learning demigod skills, the two had slightly strayed apart.
But not on my watch, Dayami thought.
Due to political problems in her country, the Philippines, she couldn't go home for break. She had stayed at camp, Skyping her father every day and hanging out with her friends. However, she still saw Jin around, strolling on his own, training against the automatons in the arena. Finally, she decided what to do.
She wanted to give Jin a gift, but she wanted him to like it. Her tastes in books and music were probably too happy and naive for him. Maybe an iTunes gift card? Or a ticket to an all-you-can-eat buffet? But no, there was something she had been eyeing in the camp store, something rather valuable in a fight. She raked her money together then went across the cabins' courtyard to knock on the door of Jin's cabin. He was the only occupant: Oizys didn't seem to have a lot of children.

"Jin? It's me, Dayami!" she called, holding the wrapped gift behind her back.

Jin had been content with being by himself, he was able to train in relative peace and quiet and was left to his thoughts which he was able to enjoy. He would never admit that he sometimes missed the exuberance of a fellow demigod or that sometimes it was a bit too quiet and he missed the chatter that would fill his ears as it went on and on with no end in sight.

Chilling in his mothers cabin, he had the music blasting his favourite rock band Grandson and since no one could complain considering he was an only child, he had the volume turned up pretty high. Singing along to the words, he found himself relaxed as he took in the words and just let himself sink into his own little world at least that was until he heard the cabin door being knocked on even through the music. Confused at who it could be as he didn't particularly have any friends at camp, he got up and to his surprise as he got closer he heard the one voice ht would never admit to missing.

Opening the door, Jin glanced at the girl as she beamed at him from the entrance. "Didn't think I'd see you again, come in or you'll get cold." He replied moving aside for her.

"Thanks!" Dayami grinned and scooted in. The magical weather of Camp Half-Blood had changed from its usual hot, Mediterranean weather to a snowy winter wonderland. It practically never snowed where she came from, so she wasn't used to this kind of low temperatures.
Shaking snowflakes from her hair, she spun around to look at the inside of the cabin. Dark columns, black stone, a statue of the goddess in a back niche... "Wow, not very festive here," she commented. It actually fitted the whole doom-and-gloom thing Jin had going on. "Anyway, I got you this! Merry Christmas!"

Rolling his eyes at the comment, Jin said nothing as he silently observed Dayami, looking around his cabin. Being the son of Misery, he didn't see the need to put up decorations, it wasn't like he was expecting anyone and the whole cheery atmosphere around camp made him positvely nauseous to be frank.

His thoughts were interrupted when Dayami came into view once more, handing him a finely wrapped present. To this Jin raised an eyebrow, taking the present from here delicately before unwrapping it. What he saw was suprising to say the least, she had gotten him bracers. Gold in colour they glinted in the light of his room, shining beautifully.

Speechless, no words left Jin's mouth no matter how much he moved his lips. And then a smile graced his face, a gentle smile that conveyed his thoughts and before he knew it, he had wrapped her in a small but brief hug.

Dayami hugged him back, standing up on her tiptoes to match his height. Jin wasn't exactly a hugger so she was surprised (to say the least) that he'd express physical affection. "So glad you like it!" she said with wide grin. "I saw them in the camp shop and I just had to get them for you. They have some special features, try 'em out!"
