I caught the evil smile the girl had on her face out of the corner of my eye, then looked at the injured boy. I made the earth rise up to lift him to the infirmary.... wherever that was.

I made the earth split underneath the girl (Krystal), creating a five foot wide crack in the ground that if you fell into, you'd fall into darkness. Not good if you were scared of the dark.

I manage to grab onto the edge of the crack, dangling by my hands.

The crack closed around the girl's foot, tight but not enough to break it or anything. Maybe cut off a bit of circulation. I looked at where the crack had been, proud that I'd been able to do that.

I felt slightly light-headed, but otherwise I was pretty glad to see the girl sinking and the other girl helping the boy out. I nodded in acknowledgement then looked back at the sinking girl. "So.... any last words? You want to live? Et cetera?"

I couldn't see anything becuase my eyes were swollen shut. I breathing was thick. I tried to ignore the pain coming from the stab wound in my right shoulder.
