"Yeah!" Lindy scrambled out of bed, nearly tripping in her effort to get to the low-calorie bag of popcorn stashed in her trunk. Anything to keep Nate here, she thought foolishly.

She stuffed it into the microwave and hunted down a bowl while the popcorn was popping. The microwave dinged, and Lindy grabbed the bag-and shrieked and dropped it, waving her hand around. In her hurry to get the popcorn ready, she had burned herself.

Nate, hearing a shriek, stood up, following where Lindy's voice was. He immediately then grabbed some ice from the fridge, stuffing it into a Ziploc bag. "Put it on the burn. It'll draw out the heat," He softly said, concerned. Why was he concerned? Something was obviously wrong with him.

She watched him, and her face turned from pained to soft. She did as he instructed, then swiftly stretched up and kissed his cheek. "Thank you," She said gently.

She smiled to herself as the pain slowly faded. She grabbed a rag and picked up the popcorn bag carefully and poured the popcorn into the bowl. "So do you still want some popcorn?"
