"I'd never tell Drake," She liked me, but not how I liked her. She didn't like liking me. Hearing those words I fell silent. I knew this feeling. Heartbroken. I swallowed hard. For some reason, this hurt far more than someone simply not liking you back. I couldn't blame her. I was a sorry excuse for a person. Missing leg, missing eye, paralyzed hand. Now more than ever I wished I was fighting that gorgon because I knew I'd loose. I was tempted to run out the door and get myself hit by a bus. But I didn't want her to feel bad so I forced a smile and shrugged. "It's all cool," I reply.

I blush. "I shouldn't have said that! Ugh! What am I thinking?" I could've sworn just then I liked him less. Just a little. I hoped it kept going like this. On this floor were shut down machines, in the middle of making buttons. I scanned the big room. No sign of Hanson.

I grab him, and hug him tightly. "Don't kill yourself, you promise?" I didn't say that as me liking him. I said it as me loving him as a best friend. "You're my one best friend, and I don't want to lose you. Don't feel like you aren't needed, or you're not worth it. Because you are needed, and you are worth it!"
