Jacqueline walked out to the beach, hands tucked into the pockets of her khaki shorts. She also wore an orange CHB T-shirt over her bikini top. She was glad it was starting to warm up outside so she could sit on the beach and just forget about the world. She then noticed Jason and gave him a small smile. At least he was a friendly face.

I saw Jacqueline. "Hey!" I waved at her with a big smile. I didn't care how I looked, at least Jacqueline was my sister. I put on sun block.

"You missed a spot," Jacqueline told him in a soft voice. She rubbed the sunblock off of his nose. "There," she said, now more satisfied. She gave him a small smile, as she was starting to feel a lot more comfortable with him. Maybe it was good she had a nice brother, someone she could at least talk to. It seemed like there just weren't enough nice people in the world nowadays.

I smile. "Thanks," I hug her and grab my surf board. Jacqueline wasn't crazy like some girls. She was a good sister. I went riding on my surf board and fell off when I was far out sea. I yelled as I splashed. I swam back to shore with a smile. I was alright.

"No problem," Jacqueline replied as she hugged him back. She watched him surf and giggled when he fell into the water. Obviously he wasn't very good. Jacqueline laid out a towel across the sand and laid down on it. It still wasn't particularly warm, and she figured the water would be freezing anyway, but at least there was enough sun to sunbathe. She pulled off her over-shirt and got herself into a comfortable position.

I dry off. "That was fun," I say. I get my towel and lay down on it. I read my spell book. "Do you surf?" I finally ask her.

Jacqueline shook her head. "No, I don't. It's not really my thing," she told him softly. A lot of activities weren't her thing, she noted. She looked up at the sky and started to watch the clouds, how they would just move around camp, avoiding it like some kind of plague. She found it quite frustrating, because it made it harder to go cloud watching.

"Learn what?" Jacqueline asked, then quickly realized what he was referring to. "To surf? Oh, no... not really. Sorry." Jacqueline felt bad for turning his offer down, but she told herself not to worry about it. It wouldn't hurt his feelings if she just didn't want to surf... right?

Jacqueline glanced over at him, still hoping she hadn't hurt his feelings or something. She looked back up at the sky, day-dreaming. She wondered if her father ever missed her from time to time. She always figured he was too busy with work or something. Bleh.

I look at the sky. I see lots of clouds. I sigh and try surfing again. I didn't fail this time, but I wasn't my best, either. I try again. I sigh and look at Jacqueline. "Wonder if I will ever get better," I say and sigh sadly. I sit down and relax again. Nice warm sun. Apollo must be feeling nice today. Super nice.

"I'm sure with practice you will," Jacqueline reassured him. She said something in Greek and twirled her finger. Right above her finger, vapor started to gather as she made a little cloud in her palm. She smiled and blew on it. When she did so, it dissipated into the air, following the current of a light breeze.
