Talking wit' Chiron

Chiron raised an eyebrow, nodding for her to continue. Some demigods did have powers, which would define who his or her godly parent was fairly easily. "Can you describe these 'things' to me? And that 'monster' you encountered?"

"Hellhound?" Chiron suggested, thinking for a moment about Callie's, aah, talents. "I would think you're the child of some god or goddess of ice or snow.... Perhaps Boreas, god of the north wind, or Khione, goddess of snow and ice."

"Yes, it is, Callie. There's a god in the other room...." Chiron glanced at Mr. D's office door, then back at Callie. "You may continue to dance, but.... Well, you're going to need to learn to defend yourself from monsters first -- now that you've come here, monster attacks may be more frequent for you. Perhaps you could practice dancing here in camp, too, though we don't really have a dance studio for that...."

"Mhm.... Well, that's good. Do you have anybody to contact? We don't want them calling for a city-wide search looking for you." Chiron glanced at the clock, opening another drawer in his desk.

"Well, hopefully your father doesn't have to pay for your classes.... Hm. I'm sure somebody will miss you, but.... Here." Chiron took out a drachma from the drawer and held it out to Callie. "This will be the easiest way to contact him. Make a rainbow with the hose outside, say 'O Iris, please accept my offering,' and then ask for your father. It's like webcamming, only you need to pay a goddess to put you through."

I walked in, my backpack on my shoulder, my hand by my pocket. I was going to leave, I had to. At least I got time away from the kids when I'm at home. "HEllo?" I called softly

"Yes, I'm here," Chiron called from behind his desk. He shut his drawer of papers and looked around his office. Still rather unorganized, but then again, he hadn't lifted a finger to clean it up yet.

I looked at him. "I want to leave camp. I know I just got here, but, I dont know. I just seem...different. None of this makes sense. " I shifted my backpack.

Chiron looked at her, nodding slowly. "I see.... Will you be gone forever? Or just for a few weeks or months?"

"I'm not sure. I just want to. Well, I'm not sure what I want to do. I'm not sure if this is the right choice. On one hand, I want to live with my Dad. But on the other, I know it's would be dangerous."

"Well... You could always stay for the summer, and go back to your father for school." Chiron scratched the back of his head, unsure if she'd agree with that plan.

"That's the problem. I love school, but the kids make it unbearable. Don't get me wrong, I want to stay, but, I just don't feel like I don't fit in." I frowned. "What if I stay for the summer, then go home, and my Dad hates me for ditching him?"

"That's.... what I just suggested. But yes, you can stay for the summer and then go home." Chiron sighed, stroking his beard "You realize, Ever, that not everybody will fit in just being here for a few days. You need to socialize."

"I know thats what you said. But what if I'm away from him, then I go back, and he hates me?" I shook my head. "The last friend I made, the last person I actually liked? Yeah, he's gone. After I killed the monster, and got here, I havent seen him since."

"If you mean a satyr, he had to move on to other duties.... He could visit you occasionally, if he has times." Chiron tapped his chin, thinking to himself. "Your father won't hate you for leaving him. This is the best thing to do for you, keep you here so you can learn to defend yourself."

"Of course. I make a friend that I cant ever see again." I looked at Chiron. "I'm gonna think this over some more. I'll get back with you." With that, I turned and left.

I walk in. "Chiron?" he asks

I stand in the doorway looking for him. I shrug my shoulders "Guess he's not here" and with that I walked off
