My eyes shoot open out of reflex when I feel the vibration in the ground. I see Evon doing somersaults and stay silent, not letting him know I'm awake.

I turn and set Shawn down, then shoot to my feet laughing. Margo stands at my side looking tiny compared to Shade. I make a silent agreement with her and hop over Shade as she pounces at him. I start running towards Evon with a wide smile.

My eyes widen and I remember a warning from my African friend I met during a shoot. Hippos are number one killa. I slap my ring and it becomes Kaydo. I stab the tip into the sensitive flesh of it's mouth. "Sorry." I mumble and continue to charge at Evon without a weapon. "A hippo?" I laugh.
