Zayden walked out to the beach one particularly cool summer evening after missing the sunset, which was why he had ventured out in the first place. No matter, he thought, shrugging to himself as he decided he should probably find someone to talk to so the trip wouldn't be a complete waste. Hands shoved into the pockets of his Khaki shorts, he noticed a boy staring at the stars and walked over to him. Seemed like a reasonable enough activity to Zayden, so he sat next to the boy and commented, "Nice night tonight, isn't it?"

There was someone coming, but I couldn't hear him steps because of my deafness. I was feeling the slight quake they left on the sand. For incredible as it sounds, it was easier to find a place to be alone when I still lived between mortals. My gaze was slightly burred and the colored lights of the stars became hybrid. It was beautiful to see, and I didn't want to pay attention on the human presence.

Zayden looked at the boy after some time with no response. Maybe he just didn't want to talk, which Zayden was perfectly okay with. He put his hands behind his head and looked up at the stars, mentally trying to find as many constellations as he could in the clear night sky.
