The Whitebirch Household

The cab pulled up and Chase looked out the window at the huge house that was his family's. he got out and held the door open for Ophelia.

The sun was pleasantly beating down and the smell of a barbeque lingered in the air. Chase ruffled his hair a little and looked again at the big white three storey house. He smiled and blinked.

He pointed up. "I have the loft room. Aselyn is below me."

Chase led the way to the door and knocked before opening it. "Hey, it's Chase. I'm home."

"Just relax," Chase told her and walked in. The hall way was elegant with the small chandelier and the ornaments dotting the place.

"Daddy!" said the three year old Aselyn Rose as she ran toward her father, smearing finger paint on his shirt and face when he picked her up and spun around.

"Oh my little girl! How've you been? Grandpa and Grandma been good? Did you stop them being bad?" Chase asked her and the girl laughed and nodded. Chase gestured to Ophelia. "This is Daddy's friend, Ophelia. She's nice."

Aselyn Rose smiled at Ophelia. "Daddy never brings home ladies," she said and smiled. Chase ruffled his daughter's hair.

Chase beamed until-

"Are you daddy's girlfriend?" Aselyn Rose asked.

"Oh, no, honey. Sweetie, Ophelia is just a friend," Chase said.

"Chase!" said his father, coming down the stairs. "And Chase's friend. Lovely to meet you, my dear. Chase, you're just in time. We're having a barbeque today."

"I'm having a burger," grinned Aselyn.

"Not before you wash up, you're not," Chase smiled. "You've got paint all over Daddy. Tell you at, Aselyn, let's wash up together, huh?"

"Yay!" Aselyn said and hurried up the stairs.

Chase looked at Ophelia. "I'll be down as soon as possible." He went after Chase making monster noises. "Om nom nom nom! I'm going to eat you Lynnie!"

"Come out to the back, dear," Mr Whitebirch said and smiled as he led the way.
