Sky walked up the hill, peering out into what she could see of the outside world. There was a boy sitting at what she thought was Thalia's Tree, and he wasn't dead. She wasn't going to speak first, in fact, she hoped that he wouldn't talk to her. Conversations were very hard with limited English.

I notice that somebody is nearby. I sit up and look around I spot a girl not far away. I wave to be polite and leave it to her to decide if she wants to join me.

It seemed that the girl didn't want to come over. why stop and wave then? Part of me thought. "Hey, I'm Gordon" I called to her.

Part of Sky wanted very badly to walk over and start up an interesting conversation. Unfortunately, the other half of her mind was screaming Run away! Don't respond. So it was a compromise that Sky actually responded. "I'm Sky." She said, loud enough for him to hear.
