Volleyball!

"You are on!" Malecai laughed. He made a mental note: Subject shows enthusiasm. Offers to "crush" me I'm this sport. He trotted up to far side of the court and secured his sweatbands.

Hadley smirked as she surved the ball. The boy with the sweatbands was strange. Like super strange, "I'm Hadley." She said to him, using her Austrailian charm.

Even though Malecai looked stupid in his ridiculous getup, he was excellent at sports. As a reaction, he lunged upward and spiked the ball towards the ground on the other side of the net. He landed on the balls of his feet. "Malecai. Malecai Valasco." He greeted in his Italian accent.

Hadley ran to hit the ball, barely making it, "Cool, well my dad is Zelus. How about you." She asked dusting the sand off of her legs.

Malecai lunged to his left to hit the ball just in time, landing in the sand. "Athena is my mother." He smiled and stood quickly.

Hadley missed, "Is that why you talk funny?"

"What? I do not talk funny." Malecai frowned and pulled out a notepad, jotting down the score and observations. He took off his sweatbands because he was starting to itch. There. That's better.

"Yeah you do. All formal and junk." Hadley blurted, putting her hand on her hip.

"Would you like me to address myself as a modern day hipster?" Malecai cleared his throat to free his accent and dropped down a few octaves. "Yo, Hadley! Slam dat ball ova here so I can kick yo butt in dis veezy fo sheezy! Swag! Yolo!" Malecai frowned and returned to his normal voice. "I do not understand how people can speak like that."

Hadley laughed uncontrollably, "No one talks like that, stupid."

Malecai frowned and looked at Hadley's laughter. "What is so funny?" He asked, taking off the leg warmers.

"You, your outfit. Many things"

"But my brother told me this is how all athletes dressed." Malecai wasn't familiar with these American holidays, especially April Fool's Day.

"Well, you brother must be like a bajillion years old cause no one dresses like that anymore."

"Well. How rude." Malecai stated matter-of-factly.

"I'm just saying mate." Hadley sighed.

"What if...what if I fooled him back?" Malecai murmured quietly, taking off everything but his cotton shorts (that were now at the appropriate level) and his white undershirt. At least he looked less nerdy now. "No, never the mind. That would be immature."

"There is one way. But your very calm. I can....help with your anger."

"I can be a very intimidating person." Malecai smiled to himself, remembering a past event. "I went to McDonald's, once. The lady forgot to add napkins to my bag, so I refused to eat my meal until the manager kicked me out for loitering." He dusted off his shoulders and smirked. "I ended up getting my napkins."

Hadley raised her arm, "We gotta a bad one over here." She laughed, "No, like real anger and jealousy. It's a beautiful thing, really. You'd be amazed."

"Tempting...." Malecai thought wistfully aloud. "But being a man of logic, I do not think of this a wise idea."

"Be a man of desire. You want revenge, don't you?'' Hadley paused, "But it's totaly cool if you let him get away with making you look foolish." She started to drift away from him, "Your choice....just one little..."

"Hadley, stop!" Marina exclaimed running down towards the beach. Hadley scoffed, "Great, little miss Goodie Goodie. Well mate, call me up when you want revenge." Hadley left the beach, laughing.
Marina ran towards the boy, "She didn't touch you yet, did she?"

Bic: Malecai's eyes were misty with longing. The words man of desire seemed to float around in his head, echoing off the walls of his skull. Another voice snapped him back into reality, but too little too late. Malecai smiled to himself and looked at the new girl. His gray eyes shone with dangerous wisdom. "Nope. She hadn't a need to." He said calmly.

bic- Marina sighed with relief. "Good." She paced around him, making short circles, "Don't lie to me. Cause I can hurt you, I guess."

"MalecaI Valasco never lies." He said with the charm of a snake. Malec stood up and cracked his knuckles, grabbing his clothing that his nuisance of a brother made him wear. "If you don't mind, I have someone to attend to."
