Life Before Camp
They met in the library at the University of Manchester on cloudy and rainy day. He was a postgraduate student looking to finish get his Masters degree and she just happened to be the goddess Athena. What started as a simple conversation about history transformed into a love affair that never got further then a few dates and a lot of very good conversations. She was there though as he graduated and in a lot of ways he credits her for being able successfully move through writing his thesis and getting his degree. But soon enough she was gone from his life and he decided he needed to move on. He hadn't gotten much time to do that when on his doorstep he found a gift from the woman he had come to love and a big piece of news. The baby that was now in front of him was his daughter and the baby girl whom he named Avery was a demigod. But even though the news was big and for most people it would make them run for the hills, Marshall smiled and accepted his duty to raise his daughter to the best of his abilities. And so began Marshall's new life.
Avery grew up pretty normally for the first few years of her life. Marshall took a job at the same University he attended and worked hard to provide for his very special daughter. Even at a young age she seemed much more advanced then some of the other kids and she developed quicker then most as well. But then when Avery hit the age of 4 the monsters started showing up. At first it was nothing too serious, mainly just things perturbing the sleeping girl and Marshall having to shoo off unwanted "guests." But as she got older the things that would show up got worse. Soon enough Marshall and Avery began to move around, relocating anything big found them. Within a few years the pair had moved a total of 6 times, and nothing seemed to be keeping them out of trouble for long. The most memorable time for Avery was the last monster encounter that her and her father had before they left England and moved to the States and was when she was 10 years old. It was a seemingly normal night for the pair when they were followed home. Before they could try and escape the duo was ambushed by a cyclops who attacked them and seriously injuring Marshall in the process. Avery had managed to fend off the creature but not without a few bumps and bruises herself. Marshall unfortunately was paralyzed and was told he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. The next day they packed their things and moved, escaping the country and moving to New York where they decided to try and start over.
New York treated the Kennedy's well. They moved a few times in the 5 years since they left England but they never left the state of New York. Their latest move was to Rochester, New York where Marshall got a job at Nazareth University as a professor of ancient history and with this job was able to pay for Avery to attend a local all girls private school. Everything seemed to be fine for the family of two, nothing weird had shown up in awhile and everyone seemed to be settled in to their new surroundings. Avery excelled in her academics and even started playing a sport and Marshall had gotten good standing at his new job. But as it always seemed to be something found them yet again and whether it was just being tired of running every year or so or just the realization that he could no longer protect her like he could when she was younger; Marshall had decided that it would be best to try and find his daughter a safe haven. With the help of a satyr and a little guidance, Marshall sent his daughter to Camp Half Blood to try and protect her from the things that seemed to chase her relentlessly though she hates that he did.
Life at Home
Family:
Mortal Parent: Marshall Kennedy - Father and professor of ancient history at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. Marshall had always been studious and academically gifted and most of all he loved history. He loved learning about the past and one of his favorite subjects was ancient history. Marshall had decided at a young age that he was going to learn all he could about his favorite subject and he had hoped to do a lot of traveling but never saw more then England and a few states in the US. He met Athena as he was getting his masters degree as she taught him and mentored him through his thesis and eventually seeing him through to his graduation. The two fell in love and soon enough he was given the gift of a beautiful daughter on his doorstep and Athena who told him about who his daughter was. He took up teaching at many of the local colleges in England but moved around constantly on the run from monsters. They two finally moved to the United States, more specifically New York and it is here that he now lives. He is now in a wheelchair after his incident but still seems to get around pretty well. He has a mane of fiery red hair and a pale complexion. Avery is almost the spitting image of her father except for her grey eyes which she inherited from her mother.

Looks
Avery is actually quite tall for her age standing at 5'9" and weighs a healthy 135 pounds, though a lot of it is actually muscle. She is actually quite athletic because of most of the sports and other activities she was involved in before her time at camp and so she has a more athletic build, though she does have some curves that have developed around her hips mainly. Avery has light auburn hair that is straight as a pin and goes down to her mid back. She usually wears it in a braid or a ponytail or in anyway that is back and away from her face and hardly ever lets it hang loose. She has a naturally pale complexion and it tends to be very clear and free of most blemishes and has no freckles, though she seems to burn instantly if she she goes outside and wears no sunscreen. So if she plans on going outside you can expect her to spend at least 30 minutes covering herself in sunscreen to avoid becoming red like a lobster. Her eyes are a light grey with a hint of light blue in them and are very intense due to how light they are, Avery's eyes are the one thing on her face that really stands out. Her face is heart shaped but has some angles to it and her lips are rather full and usually a nice pink color though she never wears makeup. She has scars on her body not only from sports related injuries but also from monster attacks which have happened more often then she would like.
Personality
Avery being the daughter of Athena does have some stereotypical traits of her half siblings. She is quite bright and is intelligent although she is not one to openly flaunt that fact. She also tends to pick up things quicker then most people and can usually learn something new after one or two tries at it. Her mind tends to just work things out faster then some other kids and so she tends to be very knowledgeable about numerous subjects, mainly those in history and languages. Avery also likes and understands strategy and loves to play things like chess where she has to think a few steps ahead of an opponent or even playing games like capture the flag where there is some planning involved. Avery is also very competitive and at times can be a little too competitive though it has helped her in her athletics. Avery is focused when it comes to something she likes and is very studious and driven to succeed. She at times can be slightly aloof and seem uninterested as well as come of a little intimidating at times. Once you get to know her though people find her to be sweet and loyal to those she cares about.
Talents: Avery is very studious, especially when it comes to subjects she likes and is very focused on learning and her academics. She loses the time when she is reading up on something that she is interested in and has no problem picking up a book and just getting out of it as much as she can. She can also learn things rather quickly and can pick up on how to do things even after just one or two times of trying it out. Avery is also good at volleyball, a sport that she has been playing for a few years now. It is her favorite sport and she really enjoys playing the game as well as going to the practices. She has gotten pretty good with using a dagger and now that she is at camp she has been making sure to get more practice in when it comes to using the weapon.
Strengths: Avery is actually quite bright, though she is not one to openly flaunt that she actually has a brilliant mind. She used to sit in on her father's lectures and had always loved to listen to him teach. She even hopes to one day try and attend college to continue in her pursuit of knowledge though that is a few years away and she is not sure if she would be able to actually attend or not. Avery is very organized and she tends to keep not only her bunk and her area nice and tidy but she tends to keep everything from school notes to lockers in a clean and organized fashion. She can be very protective of people and is loyal to her friends. Avery is also focused and very competent when it comes to anything that she does and she likes to do things the right way the first time.
Weaknesses: Like a lot of demigods Avery has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD for short. Though it does keep her mind sharp she tends to have thoughts always racing in her mind and at times it seems like her brain can't even take a moment to just rest. She is also at times aloof and uninterested in those around her and this has been known to push people away from her. At first glance she can seem somewhat intimidating and she has found herself a bit judgmental of others when she first meets them and sometimes she finds it hard to forget her first impressions of a person.
Flaws: Avery can be overprotective of the people she is closest to at times and tends to stress out when things around them and their well being gets out of hand. This is especially evident when it comes to her father whom she feels that way the most with. Avery can also be a little too judgmental at times, especially when it comes to first meetings. She tends to not ever forget that first impression she makes and while she is very bright and can usually make a pretty accurate reading on someone it can hold her back from her social interactions. She can also be a bit of a control freak at times and likes to have a good handle on the things around her and she does feel some stress when things do not go according to plan. Avery can be overly competitive and hates to lose. And although she is athletic she is not a very fast runner, nor does she even enjoy running at all. She gets winded quickly and just hates running in general. Avery also has a bad ankle from a sports related injury that she decided to try and use again too quickly and hadn't healed all the way yet. Running for too long or walking for an extended amount of time makes it sore and feel stiff.
Likes: Volleyball, history and popcorn.
Dislikes: Losing, really arrogant people, running and spiders.
Fears: As most children of Athena, Avery has arachnophobia and is pretty horrified of them. She hates everything about them, she hates that they have an unpleasant look to them and have gross looking legs as well as the webs they weave. If the spiders actually disappeared off the face of the earth she would actually be happy about it. Avery is also very scared of losing her father, especially after the close call he had when they were attacked by monsters because of her. Although she hates to admit it she knows that she is a danger to him and fears that she will one day cause him painful injury or death.
Life at Camp
Weapon: A celestial bronze dagger that she acquired from her father in order to protect herself. It has come in handy plenty of times due to the fact that they have been encountering monsters since the time she was a young girl.
Armor: Avery is not a fan of wearing bulky armor so when she does wear some she wears a lightweight celestial bronze chest plate.

Years at Camp: Less then a year. It has been exactly 3 months, 4 days and 2 hours since Avery was dropped off by her father at camp. And yes, she has been counting.
Roleplay Example
Avery Kennedy stood on that hill looking down at the camp she was now being told she had to attend. "It is for the best, you will be safe there." Her father's last words, though only said to her about 30 minutes earlier, seemed like a distant memory in the back of her mind. Avery wanted to cry, she really did, but she just kept the strong and confident facade up which was the same one her father always told her to have whenever she was faced with her fears. The wind picked up slightly and blew the strands of light auburn hair that had been tightly tucked behind her ear forwards and into her face. With a quick motion of her hand though she instantly put it back into place. She tried to push herself to go forwards yet her feet did not want to listen, they wanted instead to turn and run back to try and catch her father. She knew he couldn't have gotten too far ahead of her and if she ran really fast she could catch him, right? No, she knew that she couldn't do that, it was for the best after all and at least with her at this camp he wouldn't have to worry about monsters showing up and threatening his well being anymore. And that was all she ever wanted for him. Avery took a deep breath and slung the backpack over her shoulder and walked forwards down the hill and towards the rest of the camp. "Well...here we go."
