Man of steel

"But it won't be fun without you." Blaine smiled, but backed up some.

"If you need some time, then that's okay. I'm going to go grab some more popcorn." With that, the teenager ran off to retrieve the bag and head towards the snack bar.

Josephine smiled and wandered farther away. She knew that she shouldn't be walking away from Blaine with that ceazy guy after her. She kept walking though.

"No, I wasn't!" Blaine tried to explain to the security guard who had stomped over. Apparently, Blaine had an "aggressive attitude" when asking for extra butter. The guy working there obviously had a thing with possession issues. The popcorn was dry all together and stuck in Blaine's throat. When he had asked for extra butter (with a please), the man had called him aggressive and shouted for security, which had come so quickly.

"Sir, no need to show any violent action." The security guard said. Blaine stared at him in confusion, hands at his side.

"Violent action--I just wanted some freaking butter!" Blaine argued calmly. He had had enough practice during his protest meetings to know when and when not to shout. Now was not the time.

"Sir! Just please step away from the stand! Have you been drinking?" The police insisted.

"What--No! I'm only seventeen years old! What the hell would I look like drinking? And at the drive-in?"

"Sir, come with me."

Josephine heard some commotion going on by the snack bar. "Blaine?" Josephine jogged to the snack shack. She saw the security with his hands on Blaine. Jo approached them with her chest pushed out. "I'll take it from here George." She showed him the badge that she had stolen from the mans back pocket. "I'll handle it." She took Blaine's arm and placed the badge back in the pocket of Blaine's jacket.

The officer looked at Josephine and Blaine in confusion, but said nothing as the walked away. Blaine walked with Josephine with a grimace on his face and his hands clenched into fists. The security guy was lucky Blaine didn't flip out like he would have if it weren't an official. He grumbled to himself as they walked.

Josephine put her hands in her pockets and sighed. "You okay?" She looked at Blaine. "You seemed really ticked off."

"I'm beyond ticked off." Blaine growled in a voice that wasn't his usual calm purr. His eyes were narrow, jaw taut, and fists clenched as he stiffly walked farther away from them.

"Let's think about this. Why do you think they began harassing me? For no reason, mind you." Blaine stopped in front of a tree where they could still see the end of the movie.

Josephine rubbed his back. "It's okay... I'm here for you." Josephine smiled and sat down taking Blaine's arm.

"It just pisses me off! That's it, this place is going to absolutely covered in paint tomorrow." Blaine growled and sat beside her.

Josephine put her hand on top of his. "Just calm down. We don't need to paint the entire place." She gave him a kind smile.

Blaine closed his eyes and tried to calm down. Tried. Eventually, his anger diminished and he sighed.

"See much better. " Jo let go of his hand and smiled. She watched the end of the movie.

"Yeah, yeah." Blaine muttered, though he was calmed down. He watched the movie end then stood. The question was...what to do now?

Josephine looked up at the dark sky. "Whatcha wanna do?"

"I'm not sure." Blaine frowned. Suddenly, his face broke into a smile when he saw the full moon.

"Want to see my powers?"

Josephine smile, knowing that he was in a better mood. "I'd love too."

Blaine pointed to the sky at the constellation of Orion. Concentrating, a thin silvery line began to draw out the figure in the sky. When Blaine was done the figure of a clearly drawn man with a bow and arrow running across the sky was the outcome.

"It's not a cool power, but it's fun at parties." Blaine shrugged.

Josephine smiled brightly. "I thought it was cool." She looked up at the stars then back down at Blaine.

"It's alright..." Blaine bite his lip and looked back at the sky. What cool powers could you get by being the son of some Egyptian moon god anyway?

Josephine glanced at his lips thinking about that moment in the kitchen that she was suppose to forget.

Blaine could have sworn that he could feel someone watching him. He turned towards Josephine and studied her face. Oh. Oh. Reading up on body language Blaine knew exactly what she was thinking based on her eye contact with his lips. He blushed a bright red but didn't move in fear of disrupting any peace.

Josephine noticed that he had caught her red handed. "Oh my gods!" She quickly stood up and hid her burning red face. "I'm so sorry.... This must be extremely awkward!" She looked at the ground ashamed.

Still blushing, Blaine didn't move. What was he hoping for? That she moved, or that she would kiss him---Oh gods, Blaine stop. He stood up then and looked at the ground, a tree, anything that would keep him from making eye contact with Josephine.

"We...should head back to camp."

Josephine sighed. "Okay." She stood up and started to walk back hoping that Blaine would change his mind about forgetting.

Blaine chewed on his lips and followed behind her.
