    Sinéad sat on a huge flat rock by the edge of the lake, the area which was partially concealed by forest shrubbery, watching the cool, glassy surface of the water. She usually sat there because nobody ever came to that quiet part of the lake, and it was far away from the hubbub of camp.

    Either way, it was a refreshing summer evening and the daughter of Apollo was content to spend the last moments of the day at the lakeside. As soon as it got dark though, she'd go to the stables to feed Tarquin supper, and then head back to her cabin. Or perhaps practice her archery hunting monsters in the forest. A moving target would improve her aim.

    Peering into the depths of the lake, Sinéad observed the plants underwater wave lazily about. Absentmindedly, she dropped a nearby pebble in and watched as it plopped into the waters, slowly descending to the lake-bed. She could smell the damp grass from the rain earlier on; the scent you get when you tear a fresh green leaf in half. The sun cast a golden-pink glow on the lake, illuminating the underwater life below. It would soon set.

    Socks walked toward the lake absentmindedly, running a hand through his already messy black hair. Arriving near the edge of the chilly water, Socks leaned down and scooped some of it up in his palm and splashed on his face, closing his eyes at the cool sensation of the water trickling down his neck. As the water trickled beneath his shirt, Socks tugged at his collar a little impatiently and took off his jacket in a fluid motion.

    Having come straight from the prom, Socks was still in his steampunk outfit looking more than a little ridiculous standing by the lake in a well-fitted rust coloured suit and tall top-hat. It dint help ofcourse that he had drawn intricate magic marker designs of gears and chains all over the suit making him look like a strange transparent automaton. The top hat too had been customised to fit his needs, it matched Socks' suit in colour and had a real steel key protruding from the lock shaped hole in it.

    Having removed his jacket, Socks backed away from the water and looked around rather curiously, squinting slightly in the dim light. Spotting someone, a girl maybe, sitting on a rock near the edge of the lake, Socks subconciously took a step forward in the direction of the person before pausing in his stride to contemplate whether he really wanted any company at the moment. The last misguided attempt he made at interacting with some of his own species had admittedly been rather boring. Socks had taught himself not to be too harsh however, it wasnt people's fault that they tended to be rather dull. Taking heart from the hopeful mood of his surroundings, Socks continued walking forward until he stood a few feet ahead of what he could now confidently call, a girl. "Hello there" he said conversationally, smiling in what he hoped was a polite manner.

    Hearing the voice, yet still half in her own thoughts, Sinéad turned to see a somewhat familiar camper. She supposed he came from the prom that ended a while ago. His face was wet, like he had just stuck it in the lake.

    "Hey," she nodded absentmindedly, taking in his combination of bizarre clothes. She stared at his partially damp shirt. A thought floated through her head and she held it back. At least, she thought she did.

    Being the direct person she was, the words came out before she even knew she had started talking. "I hope you're not planning on taking a bath here because the water isn't exactly clean." Sinéad hadn't really met him before, but she had got to know so many people through so many different ways in the recent months that greetings didn't tend to be awkward anymore. Still, that statement wasn't something you just told someone after blurrily registering their presence for five seconds.

    "Whoa sorry let's do that over," Sinéad apologised, realising that someone was actually in front of her. She fixed a smile on her face, hoping it wasn't too weird. "Hi."
