Mae anxiously knocked against the door of the Norse Cabin. She had mail to deliver in her right hand. It wasn't her job; but the girl who had originally brought it around was training extra, and she was at the wrong place at the wrong time... long story short, she was stuck with the, uh, privilege, as Chiron called it. She gripped the mail a bit tighter, hoping she wouldn't crinkle it.

I get up and run over to the door. I open it. "Hello? Oh hi!" I let the girl in. "Why are you here?"

Mae shrugged and handed the girl the envelopes. "Y'know, mail.." She ran her eyes over the cabin, hoping she didn't look like she was being too nosy. She kept her head down, and wore a sad smile- one that almost never left her lips. "Here."

Maeve shrugged, and turned the mail in her hand. "Your name is Emma, correct?" She read the mail. Yep, it was addressed to a girl named Emma.

Mae nodded, and handed the mail (for a second time, I may add) to Emma. Then she stuck out her hand. "I'm Mae, daughter of Morpheus." She hoped she didn't sound too awkward- or at least, not any more awkward than she usually did.

Mae nodded, noting how viciously awkward this was. "I can work with that."

Mae nodded, and began to walk out the door. "You too, Luna." She said without looking back at the other girl.

Maeve stopped, and spun around. "How much mail do I- what?" She laughed. "Today was my first and hopefully last day of delivering. The other girl had, uh, business to attend to, so I was put in charge of this privilege." She said the word as if it were venom soaking in her mouth. "You were the last person to deliver to, too."

She suddenly realized how rude she sounded, and dropped her voice. "Sorry," She muttered, holding her hands behind her back.

And I thought I didn't talk much, Mae thought.

Mae was in an awkward position. She didn't know if she should leave or stay, so she just leaned up against the wall behind her and watched Luna open the letter.

Mae sighed as she watched Luna laugh at the letter. "Well," I say, and begin to head for the door.
