Remake for Miles Ryder

Name: Miles Steven Ryder. There isn’t much background behind Miles’ name. It was a name that his mother had loved since she was about 10 so that was his name.

Gender: Miles is male.

Mortal Parent: Miles’ mom is named Lyssa Lynn Ryder. She is a very caring mother. As a elementary school teacher, she was at school the same time as her kids, Miles and Emma, and was at home the same time. This made it possible for her to be an amazing mother, except for the fact that she kept her kids very sheltered.

God Parent: Miles is a son of Hypnos, god of sleep. Miles tries to avoid the Hypnos stereotypes and tries not to spend all his time sleeping.

Date of Birth: Miles was born on January 2nd, 1996. He was supposed to be a New Years baby, but came a day late. He is currently 17 years old.

Place of Birth: Miles was born at the local hospital in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.

Hometown/ Last Residence: Miles has spent his entire life living in Phoenix, Arizona. The only time he left the state of Arizona was to see his grandparents in Nevada.

Race/ Ethnicity: Miles is Caucasian. His ethnicity consists of 50% Greek, 45% British, and 5% Canadian.

Accent: Miles’ accent isn't very interesting. He sounds like the average Central United States male. Miles can fake almost any accent, though.

Skin Tone: Miles is pretty pale in the winter time, but he tans really well in the summer, when he gets away from his computer, that is.

Eye Color: Miles’ eyes are the average Ryder brown, much like his mother’s, Emma’s, his uncle’s, and his cousins.

Hair Color: Miles’ hair is a dull, average brown.

Hair Length: Mile’s hair isn’t very long, and he often gels it back.

Height: Miles is about 6 feet tall. Miles was always the short guy, so when he grew about 7 inches since coming to camp, he got a bit more confident.

Weight: Miles is a bit on the skinny side, and weighs about 140 pounds.

Body Type: Miles has a small frame, and is pretty skinny looking.

Appearance: Miles was always a really dorky looking child, but has grown into his looks, especially when he grew. Miles stands above a lot of people, but still seems kind of smile. He has a bit of muscle, which he has gained since coming to camp. Miles’ brown hair is either styled up, or slicked back. Miles spends most of his time smiling, which makes his brown eyes sparkle.

Weapon: Miles has a basic Celestial Bronze sword.

Armor: Miles uses the standard chest plate and helmet armor.

Pet(s): Miles doesn’t have a pet.

Skills/ Talents: Miles many pride is in his photography and digital editing skills. It’s how he spends his entire life, pretty much. Miles also is musically inclined, but he doesn’t really like to tell anyone that. Miles is also good at “school work,” having gained a thorough understanding of math, science, history, and english.

Flaws: Miles is shy and reserved. This causes him to not have much self-confidence. He automatically thinks badly of himself. Miles has often been called a “teachers pet.” Miles has problems listening, because he gets lost in his own head too easily. Miles is he is underweight, which gives him major problems when it comes to fighting. Miles is also diabetic.

Strengths: When Miles does listen, he gives amazing advice. Miles is really caring and does anything he can to get on everyone’s good sides.

Weaknesses: Miles is really bad at all forms of fighting. He can barely lift his sword, and can’t work a bow and arrow. Because he tunes out a lot, Miles has a hard time making friends.

Likes: Some random Miles favorites: color- red, candy- Sweet Tarts, food- pasta salad, drink- red Faygo. Miles really likes when people think lowly of themselves. That sounds weird, but he likes being able to boost people’s confidence and be there for them. It is harder to be friends with someone who is too confident.

Dislikes: Miles dislikes when people are cocky. Miles is also a vegetarian, not because he wants to save the animals, but because he just doesn’t like meat.

Fears: Miles is afraid of intimacy, above most other things. He is also afraid of not being in control of his own life.

Personality: Miles is very “happy-go-lucky.” Even though he doesn’t think very highly of himself, he doesn’t show it. Miles is always “taking one for the team” and being selfless. Sometimes, his brainy side shows through a little too much, and he seems a bit cocky. He also gets this way about his photography. If Miles isn’t working on his computer, or sleeping, he can almost always be found with a smile on his face.

Powers: Miles doesn’t have any powers.

Social Status: When Miles was in school, he was a major nerd, but he found refuge in the show choir and the academics.

Summer or Year Rounder: Miles is a Year Rounder, because he just likes life more at camp.

Years at Camp: Miles is at the end of his second full year at camp. The only time he left was when he went to escort his sister and cousin to camp.

Life Before CHB: Miles has always been the small, lanky guy. Even when he was born, he was seriously underweight and had to stay in the hospital. Miles spent a fair amount of time in the hospital, whether it was for his diabetes, broken bones, or a spat with leukemia. Miles lived with his mom and later, his sister, Emma, and cousin, Allison. His mom had a couple boyfriends over the years, but none of them were that important. Miles had an amazing mom who did a lot for him. That made him sheltered, though. He never really fit in anywhere. The people who even knew who he was at school, always said he was an academic nerd. Miles’ mother brought him to camp when the time came, with orders to return for Emma and Allison a year later.

Role-Playing Example: Miles was excited when he finally woke up before the sunrise. He had been trying to get a good picture of the sunrise. That sounds easy, and all, but the Hypnos cabin was built to make you sleep. Miles climbed off his top bunk, quietly. He dug into his bag and pulled out his camera and tripod. Miles jogged through the courtyard towards the forest. It was strangely quiet. Miles had never been out in the camp with so few people around. Miles made it to the forest, where he quickly climbed a tree. Miles set up the tripod on a sturdy branch and set the camera on there. He pulled out his Polaroid and took a few pictures of himself while he waited.
