The sky was being lit up, and a gentle breeze was carried through. Tally, the freckled girl looked over yonder, she had never gone to the beach before. She would thought there would be more people sunbathing or something, at least that was what they usually said on the radio. Also there appeared to be no sales whatsoever as the radio usually followed up on after the weather on the beach. Maybe she missed something there but no matter, Tally thought the beach was pretty cool. Literally cool, the girl wasn't used to such breezy weather.

Tally hummed a small tune she heard multiple times playing on the radio as she walked across the beach. She was obviously having too much fun making footprints in the sand. But her playtime was cut short before her legs were tangled and tripped over, resulting in a very sandy thud against the ground face first. Whoops she hoped nobody saw that, Tally quickly sat up on her knees, brushing all the sand off her in a hasty manner.

The temperature was starting to cool down, thanks to the seasons.
Fortunately, Lakisha thought as she made her way to the beach. To her, the best time to bathe was in winter, but autumn was good too.

She was coming back from a sword fighting lesson at the Arena with the Hermes cabin, and she had organized the time table so that her cabin would be free until dinner, after which there was a marshmallow-roasting session accompanied by songs.
The tall, willowy young woman was glad she wasn't wearing any high heels, keeping the combat boots she had used for the sword fighting, otherwise she would never have made it across the dunes. A chilly breeze was flowing through her thick, dark auburn hair, making it fly around her back. She was wearing a pair of ice white Roberto Cavalli trousers, with a black, silken designer shirt that was open so as to make a little cleavage, emphasizing her silver necklace and it's aquamarine pendant.
Chrymos, her weapon, hung in dagger-modus at her side, sheathed in her slim leather belt, and she had a silver arm cuff on her right wrist. Her make-up was, as usual, asymmetric, with a line of copper eye-liner over her blue eye and silver over her green one, underlining the difference colors of her irises.

When winter was approaching, her skin grew even paler and colder than normal; it drew many people in winter to call her 'Snowqueen'. She walked elegantly down the dunes, noticing another girl who was humming a song; Lakisha stalked over to the sea shore, stopping at a random place to undress. She opened her shirt, took her necklace off, unlaced her boots and pulled her expensive trousers off her legs, revealing an ice blue bikini across which green arabesques and white spirals danced. Her body was pale, slim, and flat. She had a small hourglass figure, but no real curves.
After having folded her expensive clothes on the sand, she marched slowly towards the water.

There were soon sandy steps from somewhere near her. Was there someone else here with her? Tally soon noticed a older girl that did not seem like a camper. Maybe it was some elderly fellow, Tally snickered at the thought. No maybe she was some older camper.

Watching the stranger trot toward the water, the younger girl almost panicked. Would she drown? There was always stories about people dying at sea on the radio! Tally was about to run over to be careful, but atlas she had fallen face first once more against the soft sand. She really had to watch where she was going, more than reminding herself to tie her shoelaces. Being forgetful had its downs.

Shaking the sand off her hair and shirt, she almost forgot that the older lady was still around. Maybe she didn't see it, so Tally played it cool, with the sand still clinging to her arms. No wait maybe shed did notice, oh this was so embarrassing! Tally awkwardly waved at her, it was better to greet now than never.

Lakisha stopped just at the edge of the shore, allowing the little waves to lick her feet. The water was deliciously freezing and she closed her eyes in order to fully enjoy the feeling. The cold air continued to play in her hair, breathing across her skin. A normal person would have goosebumps, but not a daughter of the goddess of snow and ice.
As she opened her eyes and looked around to check her clothes were still there, she caught the girl she had noticed before waving awkwardly at her. She had brown eyes, a freckled face and dark brown hair that looked a bit messy; some rebellious streaks were escaping her low ponytail. She didn't look more than twelve, with her thin, fragile-looking body; Lakisha deduced she was a newcomer at Camp.

Obviously, the girl wanted to have a conversation with her.
Lakisha didn't want to talk, though, she just wanted to bathe and enjoy the cold, therefore she arrogantly glanced at the child.

"Who are you?" she haughtily asked in her cold voice.

Wasn't that person cold? And in a bikini, with the cold water and air! This gal might catch a serious cold. Maybe she was just that cool. From the way she was acting, Tally could had guessed she was cold hearted too. But Tally had to admit that the older lady sure looked pretty with the dark hair and unusual eye colors. Kind of like one of those dames described on the radio. Now that she had thought about it, Tally thought her eyes were very neat. Wait, was she taking to her?

Tally looked around, seeing if she was actually asking someone else's name. No it was just them and the lots of sand. But just for the sake of clarification, Tally pointed at herself in a questionable and suspicious manner. There was a lot Tally could respond to the question. A camper, none of your business, and maybe pass off as some famous celebrity. Of course people were smart and could see past the lie. So Tally made the choice to do what every twelve year old kids do, shrug innocently.

The girl shrugged, which made Lakisha frown. Was she too shy to say her name? Was she perhaps ashamed of her god parent? That didn't happen often, but it did exist.
    Or the girl was mute.
A faint hissing sound could be heard and the daughter of Chione turned around to see her pet lynx Salomo pace down the dunes. The eurasian lynx was starting to lose its summer grey-brown fur, replaced by a silvery white one. To be honest, Lakisha preferred his winter fur -- that wasn't surprising.
Salomo came up to her, hissing at the water, so the young woman came out and stroked his pointed ears. His fur was warm.
Salomo started purring, closing his amber-colored eyes, but Lakisha soon stopped stroking him -- he was a lynx, not a domestic cat -- and went back into the water until mid-thigh. She felt like her legs were wrapped in an ice sheath, and somehow it made her feel more... alive. Intense.

"You know it's rude not to answer other people's questions," she sharply stated.

Wait, was there a hissing sound in the distance? Was there a snake? There was a snake wasn't there? Or some sort of reptile, reptiles were coldblooded, maybe they were just finding the coldest thing, which was the dame there. Tally giggled at the thought of that, but her laughter was soon cut off as she saw a majestic feline. Tally stared in awe as the cold chick stroked its pretty fur.

Placing a finger on her lips, she thought about petting that lynx too, but that would end up badly, considering it was cold hearted like his friend there. Tally flinched at the tone the other girl was asking, it was sharper than a knife in a kitchen. How was she not going to answer that? Reminded her of some action stories that were played on the radio. But hey this was a yes or no question so it was fairly easy to answer. Tally nodded with a polite as she shuffled around the sand to make herself more comfortable. Adjusting the diamond shaped citrine gem necklace to where it was under her camp shirt.

The girl remained silent and nodded.
    Nodded?

Either she was making fun of Lakisha, or she was just downright rude. The young Swedish woman had been raised in the circles of high society, and impolite attitude always made her haughtily frown down on others.

"Are you mute?" she asked the girl.

Mute? Her? Well she wished she was but not talking was way more humorous. By her reaction, the other looked pretty ticked off by now. Maybe she should speak... But that would just take away all the fun! But she really hated to be rude to such a ruder woman.

Rubbing her chin for a decent response, she decided not to shrug innocently like last time. So Tally shook her head as she stood up with numb legs for sitting on the sand for far too long. She still stayed silent for a few minutes before she began to speak. "..... I'm.. u-um...." Tally fiddled with her fingers nervously. "T-Tall.....y.. S-sorry for um.... N-not saying anything..." She manged to stutter out in a soft voice. It was barely audible.

"Tally?" Lakisha repeated, unsure of having heard well.

The girl looked very nervous, fiddling with her fingers and stuttering in a whisper. Fortunately, Lakisha's hearing was good enough to make out most of her words. She was now in the water to her waist, standing proudly and gazing at Tally. She was a new one, of course, but Lakisha didn't feel like introducing herself. She would know soon enough who she was.
The daughter of Chione bent her knees and allowed herself to disappear underwater. The sudden cold made everything more real, more... present. Adrenaline flushed through her veins. She was so invigorated that the water on her forehead started to freeze as she came back up to the surface.

Oh sweet the chick heard right. Wait where was she going? Tally watched as she made some dramatic movement with the water, the kind you would see in those hair shampoo commercials with all those watery hair flips. Was that ice there? Tally leaned forward and squinted to get a better view. This woman sure knew how to bring the phrase of being ice cool. The kiddo had walked closer to the ocean for a more reasonable gander. She wanted to ask if it wasn't cold to her, but obviously that's a terrible question to ask, so Tally smiled at the performance.

Lakisha took her time swimming and pulled the wet streaks from her face, their fresh pine needle scent getting into her nose. Her make-up was fortunately waterproof, so she didn't have mascara or eye-liner flowing down the side of her eyes.

"Are you always that shy?" she finally asked with a touch of hauteur.

OOC: Again, sorry for the short post, I have to go to Uni.

Why wasn't her makeup messed up? That must had been some thick makeup to withstand that much cold water. But then how would she take it off?? Tally reminded herself do to some research on it. Oh, she was asking another question, was she writing a book? Tally crossed her arms as she shrugged. She was shy at sometimes and not shy at other times. It depended on the situation.

If she was confident enough she would ask the lady if she was always grumpy. But that wasn't the place or time for such comebacks.

As the girl shrugged, Lakisha arrogantly snickered and decided to just let go. She swam around in the water, some droplets on her skin accidentally freezing, her auburn hair forming dark corollas around her pale white body.
There was nothing better than to relax in cold water. Of course, Lakisha wouldn't get sick, thanks to her parentage.

A propos parentage... she still hadn't made up her mind. The visit her mother had paid her and Darcy -- well, she had stayed longer with Lakisha, since Darcy had decided to leave to meet her date -- some weeks ago was more present than needed in her thoughts, and she was intently wondering what she might do.
She probably wouldn't meet her when she'd go to Olympus, for the Olympus trip on the Winter Solstice. She didn't really want to see her mother, because she'd oppose her again with that choice of hers... and she wouldn't know how to react.

Wow after all this time, the stranger was still swimming in the cold water. If this keeps up she's going to cause the next Ice Age. How she wasn't sick yet was a total mystery, unless this had something related to gods. It was totally related to gods wasn't it? Tally groaned for not realizing earlier.

Speaking of god parents, Tally really never met her. Maybe like some long time ago, but her memories were just occupied with stories that slipped out of the radio. Tally crouched down to dip her fingers in the water, just to see if it was all hyped up as it looked to be. A squeak came out of her as she fell backwards onto the sand, that was cold!! Well now there was more sand on her than the whole beach. Tally glanced at the dame with a questionable gaze on how she could withstand the temperature.

The little girl touched the water and squealed, falling backwards on the sand; Lakisha rolled her eyes.

"Unless you're a child of Boreas or Khione, I advise you not to follow my example," she sighed. "Only, of course, if you want to catch the cold of the year."

With that, the young woman dove again into the icy water, her white feet briefly showing up before disappearing with the rest of her body under the surface. The temperature electrified her, sending delighted shivers from her forehead to her toes. It flowed on her like a second skin, and when she had to break the surface for air, she got a pang of regret. As usual, when she was diving, her mismatched blue and green eyes were wide open.

After some more diving, Lakisha decided to leave.
