The Other Gods cabin

(OOC: One difference between me and Ryan is that, despite being a sorta self-insert, is that he doesn't have any pets.)

Ryan shook his head. "No, no pets here. I've tried in the past to get a dog but my mom wouldn't budge." Sighing, he added in an "Oh well..." and shrugged. It made him a tiny bit sad, but not enough to ruin his day, let alone a conversation. Getting back into a normal mood, he asked "Is she still a pup or is she larger now?"

She frowned slightly "Aw, well that just plain ol' sucks. She's larger now. About 45 pounds, sort of large for a female, but she was born a big pup." Sable pulled her phone out once more. Not out of rudeness, but to hopefully find a good picture of her best friend.

(OOC: Well that's interesting.)

(OOC: I'd say Ryan is more of a concept self insert, being 90% me and the rest is drawn from my life (and not directly from me). But there's enough there to constitute it as a self insert on how he acts and thinks and so on.)

Ryan just sat back and relaxed, waiting for Sable to get off of her phone.

(OOC: Oh, got ya. Haley is pretty much 100% me. There is a few things different, though.)

"Here we go..." Sable said, turning the phone towards him once more. "That's a pretty recent picture of her."

Ryan couldn't help but smile. "She looks nice."

"Thanks," Sable replied. "So, uh... the paste ought to be dry soon..."

Ryan looked back at his arm, taking note of what Sable said. "I'd touch it to be sure, but that'd probably ruin your work."

Sable smiled. So, he cared about her work, well, at least to a certain extent, it seemed. "Well, what's life without risks," she decided to say. Reaching out to touch the paste, she would find that it was indeed, dry to the touch, just as it needed to be. "Well, it's dry. Which leaves us with one of two options. Either a, we can pick this junk off over a trash can that way it doesn't stain everything else, or B, you can go to the bathroom and was it off super gently. B takes more time, but in my opinion, both are effective."

There was a confused look on Ryan's face. "Wait, do we're just going to remove it now that it's dry?"

The confused look on Ryan's face was sort of cute in a weird, scrunched up way, Sable thought. "Well... if you leave it on there longer if you want to... it might add a extra day or two of life, but typically you would take it off now."

The girl just simply nodded her head. "That's the way it works. And then after the paste is gone you'll have a stain of the intricate design on your skin."

"Oooooh, now I get what you were saying." Damn he felt like an idiot. "I'll take choice "A" then."

Sable nodded. "Sounds like a plan," she said, walking towards the bathroom to get the trash can. Coming back, she would sit the trash can right in front of the couch at a angle so the paste would fall into it. Sitting back down, she would rub her thumb across the dried past on Ryan's arm. "Sorry... if this is uh.. weird but, anyways, this is what you want to do. Just... rub your thumb across the surface until it all comes off..."

Ryan nodded, beginning to rub off the paste.

It took the two of the a total of five entire minutes to get the paste off, all of it surprisingly going into the can. "Well, there you have it, Ryan. What ya think?"

Looking at the henna on his arm, Ryan said "Awesome." He looked up at Sable. "It looks awesome. Thank you."

Sable smiled. "No problem."

"So...", asked Ryan, "What else do you do to pass the time?"

Sable shrugged, walking over to sit down beside him once more. "Typically I would do my activities and training for the day, but that's over with. Sheba would be begging for a walk, but she's running about somewhere. She thought for a moment. Nothing to do. She barley knew the guy.... yep nothing else to say.

And then, like the doofus she was deep down inside, the girl found herself saying something that she definitely hadn't intended in the first place. "How would you like to come with me to that party on Friday?" Dear gods. What in Zeus's name did she just say?

Well, that hit Ryan like a bus at top speed. This girl who he's only known for two days and knows next to nothing about him wants to go to a dance with him. Ryan was still trying to find out how they were even allowed to have those here with the curfew, let alone how he could even get into one. Not that he would've tried to get in, he wasn't much of a "dance" person. But Sable was nice, in more ways then one mind you, and he had never really been to a "dance" hosted for people in his generation since, like, middle school, so why not give it a shot?

"Um...sure. Is this a formal event or is the dress code casual?"

Okay, so, Sable had been in some weird conversations before, but this one had took a nose dive off of the deep end. The atmosphere radiated pure awkwardness now. And, of course, it didn't help the fact that Ryan had said yes. Then again, had she wanted him to say no in the first place?

"Just uh... casual. Just a large group of my friends and friends of theirs getting together and what-not...." her voice trailed off, slowly getting more quiet as she spoke.

"Ok." said Ryan. At least he didn't have to get a suit or anything. "What time will it be at, the dance?"

"Around nine," she responded, after taking a moment to think.
