Rita had devoted her life to becoming a Pokemon trainer long ago, seeking out to be the very best. It had been 50 years since Ash Ketchum had started his journey, inevitably becoming a legend. Back then, people were given their license when they were 10, but nowadays it was harder. Getting a license involved hard work, schooling, and there was an age requirement. You had to be at least 15 years old to get a license, but the school permitted the students to have a full team, as long as the pokeballs were turned in at the end of the day. Sure, people had Meowths and Lillipups and Starly's as pets, but they weren't as special as trained pokemon.
Rita already had her team of 6, unlike most people in her homeroom.
First there was Gible, a quiet and unloving gift given to her by her father, and is the top of her team. Then there is Ralts, the most adorable and feisty psychic pokemon you could ever meet. This loving little gem was given to her by her school in a raffle draw. Riolu and Chimchar were given to her by her grandmother as a gift before she died, both with perfect natures and abilities, but they were both very distant to her. Eevee and Froakie were both chosen at the beginning of the school year. Luckily, she was one of the first in line, so she was able to choose marvelous pokemon.
One particular morning, Rita trudged her way to school, only focusing on how tired she was. As she walked into the main entrance, she noticed two Team Rocket grunts standing outside the gates, thankfully blocked from entry by the guards. Rita smiled, and flipped them the bird before entering. She walked up a flight of stairs to her homeroom, where she didn't have many friends. She talked to this one girl, but they didn't have much in common so after a while the relationship dropped. She played on her phone, a pokemon battle simulater, and she had her mind set on having the same pokemon in real life. Mr. Oak, Professor Oaks great grandson, was the homeroom teacher, and he also taught an Honors Pokemon class, which Rita was already in. When the bell for homeroom rang, he handed everyone their pokeballs, and Rita let her pokemon out. Most people only had two pokemon, and pretty pathetic ones, at that. They had sentrets, ratattas, and small cat and dog pokemon. She looked out the window as her pokemon mingled with the others, wondering which trainers had claimed the better starter pokemon at the beginning of the year.
