Deja Vu

Running into the Mess Hall, Alcer skidded to an abrupt stop, seeing that he won the 'race' between Christine and himself. Looking around, he picked a random empty table and sat down at it, pulling out seven muffins.

Sprinting into the Mess Hall, I caught my leg on a chair and tripped, crashing on the floor. Standing up quickly, I glanced around with a Victorious smirk, which quickly turned into a pout as I noticed Alcer ditting at a table. Grumpling, I went and sat opposite him."At least I did an impressive entrance"

"At least I have the intelligence to constantly outwit a daughter of Athena. And I have muffins." Alcer replied, referring to both their first meeting and his muffins. He likes muffins.

I playfully elbowed him on the ribs and grabbed a muffin."Yeah, you have muffins. Great"I mumbled to myslf and took a bit, munching slowly. "And, just so you know, outwitting me is no big deal"

Shrugging, Alcer said "All children of Athena have something they are mentally skilled in. That is why for me outitting one is a sorta big deal." Alcer didn't mind Christine taking a muffin, as they were now friends. He picked up several more muffins, devouring them with the wrapper still on them before spitting the wrapper out.

"I'm mentally incapable of anything so outwitting me is really no big deal"I shrugged and put my arms on the table, resting my head on them and looking over to Alcer."I'm really the disgrace of my mother. Like, I'm not even blond!"I huffed and pouted

"Who cares about hair color?" Alcer said, grinning. "You are talking to the son of the god of light. I have black hair, Dark blue eyes and pale skin. Appearances mean nothing."

"What I meant to say, silly, is that I don't even look like a normal Athena kid. Even before dying my hair, they were brown to black, not red."I explained with a small smile at his defensiveness."By the way, you're pretty good just like this"

Blushing slightly, Alcer picked up another muffins a bit the top off, the rest following it's dreadful fate of terror soon after.

"You really love muffins"I observed and grinned."But maybe it's time for some real food? Muffins all the time is not the healthiest thing to do"

Frowning, Alcer said "But muffins are good..." before curling up in a small ball in his chair, resulting in him looking like a ball of fluff due to his fuzzy sweater he had just put on.

I giggled and shook my head."Muffins are bad for your health if you eat them all the time, Alcy"I said softly and stood up, going over to the other side of the table and sitting next to him."You need to eat other stuff too, like meat and fruit"I explained and ruffled his hair.

"I eat fruit... Wait... Do banana and blueberry muffins count?" Alcer asked, puzzled.

I laughed and shook my head, nudging his shoulder."No they don't!"

Sighing, Alcer said "Well I sometimes eat steak. So that has to count for something!"

I smiled but shook my head negativelly."Let's make a deal. Once a day, preferably at lunch, you'll eat food. You can eat muffins the rest of the day, just not this time. Deal?"

Grinning, Alcer nodded rapidly. "But I don't like the food at camp..." Alcer said, frowning as several nearby nymphs glared at him.

"I could fook for you, if you'd like. I'm not a better cook than the nymphs, but I could give it a try"I offered

Drooling slightly at the thought of food that didn't taste like (In his opinion) Ground Up Rotten Eggs fed to a skunk that was drowned in sewage, Alcer asked "You promise?"

"Of course"I laughed and pointed at his chin."You got some drool here"I teased him

Wiping his chin off, Alcer attempted to gather what little dignity he had left, only to slouch over, sighing. "So, what now. Not much use being in the mess hall if I hate the food and you will cook for me."

I laughed at his childish reactions amd stood up."Come on, I've got an idea"I said and tried to pull him up

Getting up, Alcer began to follow Christine, before saying "What do you have in mind?"

"You'll see; now move!"I urged him and ran out of the mess hall

SHaking his head, Alcer followed after Christine, wondering what was next.
