james fogleson

name:meet james emmanuel harry fogleson. most people refer to him as james, but his sisters call him jamie. james’ middle names come from his grandfathers, emmanuel middleton on his mother’s side and harold fogleson on his father’s. the name james is from the variant of jacob. it’s origin is hebrew and it means supplanter. he never understood why his parents gave him two middle names, and they never really talked about it. it got really confusing until he was thirteen, when he demanded answers. it was not really a demand it was more of him going on a rant on the worries he would have going into adulthood without knowing about his middle names. the real reason he had two middle names is because his parents got into a big fight on what parent they should name his middle name after.
gender:james is a male, good thing too. james had four older sisters at the time so his father desperately wanted a boy. plus, his mother already made the blue colored pants and shirts. if they didn’t have a boy after james, he would have had a problem  too.
mortal parent:
agnus louise  fogleson is james’ mother. the fifty five year old woman is a  nursery  (kindegarten) teacher and she has been teaching for thirty years. agnus loves children, and she was heartbroken when learning she couldn’t have anymore children. she already had four children naturally and she didn’t understand why this time was different. agnus eventually found a surregate mother for james, but when the foglesons wanted another child the woman was not in the system anymore. the two parents later learned who the woman was.
gabriel thomas fogleson is james’ father. gabriel uses the term ‘like father like son’  a lot. like james, gabriel loves to garden. gabriel owns a little nursery in cardiff it is very cute. sometimes gabriel gets a little angry at times, mostly at agnus because she spends a lot of money when they do not have any money. but who cares, this fifty two year old is adorable.
siblings:
helen radonne-the eldest of the fogleson children was not the wisest. helen doesn’t really understand most things and she will just go along with whatever her siblings are saying. helen is twenty seven years old and she was the first fogleson to get married.
cammille fogleson-cammille is the second eldest (kind of)child . cammille acts like the mother of the kids, which bothers most of the siblings most of the time. cammille yells, chastises, and yells at all of her siblings. that’s why her siblings say ‘and this is why you have no friends.’ cammille is twenty five years old.

cidney fogleson-is the twin sister to cammille. like most twins, cidney is the opposite of cammille. cidney likes to actually have fun and she goes out with friends a lot. cidney is not reckless, per say. cidney is just fun. fun fun fun.
kimberly louis-is pretty studious. kimberly spends her free time making flashcards and studying. but she’s okay. the twenty three year old never makes any waves in the family so thats okay.
aaron fogleson-likes to play sports. and it’s not fun being the only boy when james is at camp.  so he likes to throw his basketball at things in the house. teen angst or something along those lines.
marilyn fogleson-is the baby fogleson. marilyn likes to play will dolls,even though she is thirteen years old. but it does not matter to marilyn. she has a bunch of creativity and her mother says she has a wild imagination.
god parent: on the surrogate forms it said this goddess’s name was diana parker. but in reality it was demeter, goddess of agriculture. demeter carried agnus and gabriel’s baby for nine months, and when james was born demeter didn’t even look at the baby before handing him off to the parents. demeter left them a note about herself and that was about it.
date of birth: james was born on march fourteenth, nineteen-ninety six. james is eighteen years old.
place of birth: james was born in whitchurch, a village in cardiff. the fogleson home in whitchurch is pretty small.  the cottage had three bedrooms and two baths, and it got pretty insane. james and aaron shared a room, and kimberly, cidney, cammille , and helen share the other one. marilyn slept with her parents. when kimberly and helen got married and moved out, the house did get roomier. marilyn moved in with the girls when she was five, so for three years the girls got a little cramped. james offered his spot in the room for any of his sisters but they did not take it.
hometown/last residence: whitchurch, a village in cardiff, wales.
race/ethnicity: james is caucasian. he has traces of scottish ancestors somewhere down the bloodline.
accent:  james has a pretty strong cardiff accent. he pronounces words with forming an ‘o’  shape with his lips. when talking fast, you can barely hear some of the words coming out of his mouth.
skin tone: james is an olivey color, and he suspects its from being outside a lot. most of the children in the fogleson family are not that tan, it seems to be just the boys in the family. both aaron and gabriel have an olive skin tone as well.
eye color: dark brown, but sometimes they look a little hazel-y. james never sees the hazel part, but his siblings say it is there.  his eyes look older than the eighteen year old, which doesn’t make any sense to him. james just figures it is because he overworks himself sometimes. it is a bad habit.
hair color: james has what you call a ratty mop on the top of his head. the brown curls stick up around one half an inch above his skull, and it looks like he never brushes it. he does though, he swears.
hair length: if you really want to measure it, he would say that one curly piece of hair is two inches long. tops.
height: james is 6’2. which isn’t surprising because his whole family is pretty tall. the youngest, marilyn is only thirteen and she is almost  5’6. it’s very exciting.
weight: 155 lbs.
body type: james is pretty lanky. his mother calls him a bean pole.
appearance: james has a square face, and boy he has a jaw that can cut anything. although the jaw is amazing, his siblings make fun of it a lot. james covers the square jaw with stubbly little beard hair. the beard is normally stubble but he does participate in no shave november, despite his mother’s wishes. the worst part of james is probably his ears. james’s ears stick out and they look like they belong on an elephant. maybe if his head was a little bigger it would look proportional. sometimes james’s slicks his hair back with gel, but it makes him look seriously older and it looks a little odd. like seriously he looks like he’s going to a parent teacher conference with his hair like that.  clothing wise,  james wears a lot of plaid. any color plaid really he just wears plaid and khakis. sometimes he wears polo shirts too.  but that’s only when he tries to look nice. james’s plaid shirts are normally stained with dirt. he tried to wash it out but it doesn’t really work. he wears this clothing style year round. but in the winter he wears a ratty coat on top of course.
weapon: james uses a twenty four inch celestial bronze longsword. james only uses it during capture the flag. he never feels like using it daily.
armor: standard camp half-blood armor. he rarely uses it.
pet(s): james’s father is allergic to most animals so he doesn’t have one.
skills/talents:
fencing☀ gabriel fogleson did manly thinks will the manly man son, james. not really. but james was the only son gabriel had for three years, and you can’t do much with a newborn. gabriel taught james how to fence with little rods and now at age eighteen he’s pretty good at it.
gardening☀ james is the pro at gardening. from both his god parent and his father, he is insanely good at gardening. he made a flower book for a certain ballerina. he’s a little obsessed.
blacksmithing☀ james doesn’t even know how he got into blacksmithing. james has a passion for building swords and stuff. he’s pretty good at it if he says so himself. he figures if he doesn’t want to garden anymore that would be what he wants to do.
flaws:
dobious☀ james has little faith in the intentions of the gods. sure, he respects his god parent, but sometimes her actions are a little iffy.
big ears☀ james has really big ears, as previously mentioned in appearance. his ears are pretty large, and he doesn’t feel like growing his hair really long to hide them. his mother used to call him dumbo, which wasn’t okay.
gullible☀ james believes in everything he hears. which proves a disadvantage when you have  four older sisters.
overprotective☀ james coddles his younger siblings, even his half siblings. but they are so young and impressionable that he needs to protect them from bad things.
selflessness☀ this is probably james’s fatal flaw. james will do anything for anyone he made relations with. even someone he just met. hel, he would die for this person. which is really unnecessary he kind of takes these things to the extreme.
worry wart☀ james has a tendency to worry about everything.

trusting☀ james trusts everyone easily, even if they are lying or not.  anyone can take advantage of him, and it gets a little sad. but hey, marilyn got a lot of teddy bears after telling james she was feeling sad.

but james worries a lot. he worries about everything. hell, james worries if his mother would mangle her foot while she’s cooking. but he’s cute though so it doesn’t matter right!

social status: james is a very neutral person.  he is not popular at all, be he could be a name a lot of people know. or they know him as the garden boy. james has a few good friends, but that is about it.
summer or year rounder: james is a year rounder. he cannot afford to make the constant trips back and forth.

life before camp:
infantry
james emmanuel harry fogleson was born at whitchurch hospital at five thirty-two in the morning. james was six pounds and super cute. demeter gave the nurses the baby james so they can give him to the fogleson. his parents were set back about this, and it was weird but they shrugged it off.
james’s crib was with helen, cidney, cammille, and kimberly and needless to say james was dressed up and was treated like a baby doll. helen even dropped james a few times. but it wasn’t on his head so it was okay.
james learned how to talk when he was almost two years old and it was very exciting. james’s mother took plenty of pictures and videos of him. his siblings grew jealous because they didn’t have photos of them all over the house. but they didn’t care anymore after aaron was born  so whatever.
childhood
james learned how to fence when he was five years old. as he aged he began to excel at it, but it was not good for his sister because he would whack them with the pole he used to practice with. when aaron was born, all the sports that his father forced james to play(which he was not interested in at all) was imediently pushed onto aaron, not that james was complaining. but he kept fencing, which was good.when james went to nursery school, he was in a class with none of his friends. all of his friends had his mother as a teacher, and he was not allowed to have her as a teacher for some weird reason. james met this girl in his class named magnolia, and obviously james had to be best friends with her because she was named after a flower. it is like fate. james and magnolia became the best of friends and it was super cute.
when james was seven he met a five year old named lucas, who was the new foster kid to live with the townsends, who live near the foglesons. james liked his humor and then they also became friends.
nothing really changed when marilyn was born, weird. james was taken to camp half-blood via satyr. with his parent’s permission of course. the satyr took him out of school with his parents and then they went to camp.
role-playing example:
during his first years at camp, james stumbled across a little support group for british demigods. at first james thought it was a little weird, but then he saw a familiar face.
lucas shipton? james has not seen lucas in two years, maybe that is where he went to.
after fifteen minutes of fist pumping and laughing, the small group was joined by another. a very perky little red head plopped down to the seat next to lucas. she was talking to some other girl when lucas chimed in, ‘what are you, from the north?’
‘yeah, and are you cardiff boys?’ she replied quickly.
‘i quite like that actually.’

james rolled his eyes, this is going to be a long  meeting.
