Olympic Commander Quest

Welcome to Olympic Commander Quest.

This is not like a normal RP. For one, you do not control your own character. Instead, you control mine. I have created a character, or in this case, a group of characters. It is up to you to guide these people on their journey, not by taking control of one of the characters, but by voting on what action they should take next.

I will post updates, story posts that advance the plot, and at the end of each story post, you will be presented with a list of options which will look sort of like this:

And you will cast your vote by posting something like this:

And after a period of time, I will tally up the votes, lock them (meaning no more new votes), determine the winning vote, and I will post an update. This update will be the result of the winning vote. I determine which vote wins by counting which vote had the most people going for it. Now don't be thinking that this might be unfair, because despite my being the story writer, I don't have all that much control over this character. Whether you succeed or fail will be determined by a roll of the dice.

Whether these characters succeed or fail is up to the decisions you make and a little bit of luck. Lead these people, and your Olympic Commander to victory, or utter defeat.

Monster attacks are on the rise again. It is January 1st 2010, and the world is no longer safe. The year 2009 had the largest recorded number of monster attacks in 1000 years, and unlike back then, the gods are no longer able to help. Sure, they can help in indirect ways by giving people their blessing and all sorts of other things, but it's not the same now like it was back in the day when the gods could go smiting whenever they pleased.

Heroes are scarce in this world. The monsters are getting bolder and though the gods have great and terrible power, they are powerless in this modern age. They have decided to establish a group that will be the first line of defense. You are the commander of this new group.

Of course, you can't run army without money of course, and the gods have seen fit to set you up with a monthly budget of about $500,000 per month with any remainder carried over to next month. It's definitely not a lot, considering what you're trying to do anyway, but it's enough to get you started. It's also enough to hire some recruits for your new organization. Who do you want to recruit?

And once you have some recruits, you need to arm them as well. After all, you can't just toss them at the monsters armed with their bare hands after all (well, actually you could, but that's rather discouraged and it's definitely bad for your operating budget). You need to buy them some weapons and luckily, the Olympians have found a distributor for you, so now you can buy your weapons as kits.

And now that that's done with. Now you have some things you need to do. What fun. They give you a job and they give you money, but you need to do your hiring, procurement, and everything else all by yourself. What fun.

Yeah, but it's nicer to have a second post to actually do things on. The first post is the original story post but the second is the stats page. As the quest progresses, it's nicer to have the stats page easy to locate.
