"A'right, I'm gonna get ready," Maddy said, standing up from the breakfast table. All of them were pretty much finished with eating, it was around 10am and Maddy couldn't wait to get on the slopes.
They had arrived the day before in the ski resort; her mother and Wes had rented a really pretty chalet near the forest, totally renovated in a mixture of modern and cozy with a flat TV in each bedroom, fluffy carpets, high-tech equipment, wood-paneled walls, comfortable couches, perfect isolation, a very modern kitchen and even a chimney.
Maddy went out of the living room, dressed in synthetic black leggings and a white tank top, her feet stuffed into thick skiing socks, and scaled the stairs up to the bedroom she shared with Miles. They had the room under the roof, with a balcony overlooking the mountains. It was really beautiful and cozy.
She first put on her knee and back pads before getting in her synthetic shirt, her dark red snowboard jacket, her white skiing pants and snowboard boots. Wrapping a big scarf around her neck, she took her beanie, gloves and snow goggles before heading down again, waiting for the others. Wes and her mother would probably ski together, while Miles and Maddy explored the slopes on their own.

miles grinned and stood up, following maddy towards their shared bedroom. he put on his skiing gear, including his hella rad new bright blue snowboard jacket and bright green skis. he put one arm around maddys waist, giving her cluck of the tongue and a pout. "how can someone look so pretty in skiing stuff? i think this must be some kind of evil black magic." he pressed a kiss against her soft slips, they were hard to reach under that thick scarf she had put on. he walked downstais with her, whistling as he did so. "so, i'm thinking that i'll try the black slope today." he said and grinned cheekily. most of the time on the slopes, he just did used his powers, turned the snow into water, and when he needed to stop, transformed it into a rubbery blue translucent thing that he could bump into with the front of his skis without getting hurt. this meant that he looked like a pro stopping, and could also control his speed better.

There was a lot of wool and snowboard jacket in the kiss, but it still made Maddy's lips tingle with joy. "Black slope? Damn, you're living dangerously." She went to take her snowboard and shouldered it after having hugged her mother and Wes goodbye. After all the careful on the slopes, trees don't move! thing her mother always did, they were out on the snow streets. On the road, the snow was all brown and mushy from the cars who had driven over it but they soon arrived near the lifts, where Maddy bought the tickets and dropped her board on the groomed snow. There wasn't one cloud above, the sky was vibrant blue, paler at the horizon. The mountains rose up in majestic white angles around the valley.
Maddy stepped on her board, securing the bindings around one foot and ankle, using the other one to push herself forward towards the lift. The snow crunched softly under it. "You ready, Fellar?" she asked over her shoulder, ready to take the lift. They were lucky, there were only a couple of people in front of them.

miles chuckled and pulled maddy with him onto the lift, humming happily as he did so. "ready as ever, scott." he whispered next to her ear and then the lift was off. he whistled happily as the lift sailed higher and higher, fiddling with his snowboard jacket as he did so.

Making out with snowboard/skiing gear ten meters above the ground wasn't the most comfortable but Maddy nonetheless enjoyed it. The shared warmth negated out the cold which tingled her skin in this altitude. When finally they arrived, Maddy slid off the lift and came to a stop several meters further with a twist of her legs.

A couple of trees framed the view but it was still the same breathtaking mountain panorama Maddy had known for the past winters of coming here. Maddy turned to grin at the most handsome boy in the world and brought her index and middle finger to her temple. "You're on, sexy!"

And with that she pushed herself towards the slope, only binding her second foot to the board when the inclination of the terrain made her slide on her own.
Beaming blue sky, snow crystals glittering up in the sun, and a perfectly prepared slope under her board. Endorphine danced into her veins as she brought her snow goggles down on her eyes, focusing on this promising meadow of cold, sparkling white. The freshly polished edge cut cleanly into the snow, her legs swinging back and forth effortlessly down the slope. The daughter of Dionysus crouched down for better momentum and speed, turning her head from time to time to catch a glimpse of Miles.
