Climbing the Wall (Private)

Sabine walled to the wall and geared up, waiting for Evander to do the same.

Evander chalked up his hands and signaled to Sabine that he was ready. He felt a rush of excitement run through him, or was that fear? "Last one up is a rotten egg." He said, then grabbed one of the hand holds and started to find a foot hold.

"Oh, you are so on'" Sabine said, starting to climb herself. When Sabine found a foothold, she hoisted herself up and started picking up her pace, now climbing the wall.

The first few feet were always the easiest, then the hand-holds became smaller, and the reach further. Sabine had the advantage of smaller, more nimble hands, but Evander had the benefit of reach. He grunted as his fingers clawed into a small outcropping, barely giving him what he needed to climb. The key, he had been told, was breathing and focus, but he sucked at focus. At least breathing, well, he had been doing that his entire life.

Sabine climbed higher and higher until it became harder to reach each hold. Sabine frowned when she could no longer reach the holds easily and glanced at Evander. He seemed to be doing pretty well, she noticed. Determined, Sabine dangerously bounced upward to reach the next hold, successfully making it.
