Catching up

"I swear everyone in K-pop videos looks like they're animes. It's both awesome and freaky," I said before listening to him talking about the bands he liked. I chuckled and apologetically spread my hands. "I'm sorry, I never listened to any of them. Tell me your favorite songs though so I can look them up on YouTube," I added with a smile. "As for a concert, that'd be great!! But the only band I'm prepared to give money to is Muse."

"Oh, really?" I chuckled a bit before taking yet another sip of my pepsi. "Let's see...there's I Want to Know by The Kongos, Jungle by X Ambassadors, and...Hallelujah by Panic! At the Disco." I took that time to get up and grab myself a cheeseburger with waffle fries. I came back to the table and offered her some.

"I'll check them out," I promised Alex, I always liked listening to new stuff. "Ayyy, waffle fries! Now we're talking."

I took three and bit into the first, letting the salty taste spread on my tongue. Food at camp really is divine.

"So apart from eyeing Dionysus hunks and listening to cool stuff, what else have you been up to?" I asked with a grin, the second waffle fry crunching under my teeth.

"Cool, cool." I laughed some when Morgan took a couple of waffle fries. I took a bite of my burger and smiled at Morgan, blushing. "Well, just honing my abilities. You never know when you might be called on by the gods."

"Too true," I chuckled, drinking from my cherry juice. "You got some pretty wicked powers though. That wheat giant? I had bruises for like, a week."

People often tended to not take Demeter children seriously on the battlefield, but Alex would make these people think twice about that. He could make daisies poisonous by touching them and strangle you with tree roots.

"I've been training too," I said and lowered my voice again a bit. "I've worked on my potions and other substances with, you know, Circe's books."

"Well, thanks, Morgan. They really means a lot." I smiled warmly at her and leaned in. "Tell me more! I love it when you learn something new about your new magic."

I smirked a bit and wiped the crumbs off my fingers.

"How about I show you? You've never been in my room, right?"

Only Salem had, I recalled. She was the only one I trusted enough about it -- and now, Alex too.

"Ooh my Olympus, yes!" I exclaimed with excitement. I have never been to her secret room before so it was a real honor to be able to be invited to it. "I would love to!"

Smiling, I finished my glass of cherry juice and stood up. "Come on then! You can take the snacks with you, I don't mind." I hopped over our bench and started walking towards the columns which circled the eating area, heading to the cabins.
